Music Club I The Carthage Music Club met for the first fall meeting Satur day afternoon, with the president, Mrs. W. G. Brown, as hostess. The meeting was opened with the Federation hymn and collect and Mrs. John Cline offered a prayer. Mrs. M. J. McPhail presented the new year books to the mem bers. The first book was given to a charter member, Mrs. R. L. Burns, to whom the 1955-56 year book is dedicated. Mrs. Burns re plied with heartfelt appreciation. The hymn of the month, “The God of Abraham Praise,” was played by Mrs. M. J. McPhail. Mrs. R. L. Burns read the interpretation of the insignia which was added to the year book. Mrs. H. G. Poole made interesting comments on her recent trip to the west coast. Miss Mary Jane Martin, a guest, accompanied by Mrs. Colin Spen cer, Jr., sang a group of songs. Members and guests were in vited into the dining room for an ice course during the social hour Guests of the club were: Miss Martin, Mrs. W. S. Golden, Mrs. Holt McNeill, and Mrs. Charles T. Grier. _ Communion at Union Church Fall Communion service will be held at the 11 o’clock hour Sun day morning at Union Church. The Rev. C. K. Taffe will preach the sermon and conduct the com munion service. Personals Bobby Hugh McCaskiU and Tommy Muse, students at Win gate College, spent the weekend at their homes here. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Blue and sons of Fayetteville visited Mrs. Blue’s mother, Mrs. D. N.- Carter, Sunday. Mrs R. L. Gavin and children of Sanford are spending this week with her mother, Mrs. A. Blue Mrs. Margaret Penn of Fort Bragg came home Monday for a visit of a few days with her sis ters, Mrs. W. G. Brown and Mrs. C. T. Grier. Among those who attended the Homecoming at Old Bethesda Church near Aberdeen Sunday were Mrs. L. P. Tyson, Miss Ruth Tyson, Miss Flora McDonald, Mrs. W. R. Clegg, Miss Annie McKeith- en.
