After several progressions scores were tallied and high prize awsirded to Mrs. Jack Tribble and low to Mrs. E. B. Maynard. The hostess served a salad course to the fol lowing members. Mrs. George D. Anderson, Mrs. Ralph Leach, Mrs. E. B. Maynard, Mrs. Jsimes Veas- ey, Mrs. Flo Baird, Mrs. W. S. Taylor, Mrs. Jack Tribble and Mrs. W. P. Whitlock. Brief Mention Mrs. J. M. Singleton, Miss Nola Currie and Mrs. Gladys Bennett of Candor visited Mrs. J. C. Rob' bins one day last wek. Mrs. Stewart Weaver has re turned home after spending last week with relatives in Orange burg, S. C. Mr. and Mrs. M. N. Sugg spent Sunday at Cherry Grove Beach. Among those from UNC visit ing relatives over the weekend were Miss Ella Ruth McNeill, Tony Miley, Jack Taylor, Gene Maynard, Jerry Hardister, Billy Taylor, Sonny Sugg, Hooper Averitt, Jay Greer, James Mc Leod, and A1 Cruce, Jr. Miss Iris Matthews of Sanford and Miss Fay Matthews of Dur h£un were weekend guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Knox Mat thews. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. McNeill. Jr., and family visited in the west ern part of the state on Sun day. Jimmy Johnson of State Col lege, Raleigh, spent the weekend in the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Pleasants. The Rev. Robert Barefield of Fayetteville was the weekend guest of Mrs. W. U. Barefield. Mrs. Jane Pittman of C^iapel Hill visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Herring, over the weekend. Mrs. O. L. Tolbert and Mrs. Ralph Tolbert of Hickory spent the weekend with relatives in Aberdeen. Mr. and Mrs. H. Clifton Blue and family attended Homecoming at Cypress Sunday. Miss Mary Frances Pohl of WCUNC returned to Greensboro Sunday evening after a weekend with her mother, Mrs. Karl Pohl. Mrs. E. L. Pleasants, Miss Francis Pleasants, Mrs. Forrest Lockey, Mrs. George Martin and Mrs. W. U. Barefield are attend ing the UDC Convention in Ashe ville several days this week. Friends of V. U. Grose will be happy to learn that he has return ed home after spending several weeks in Moore County Hospital receiving treatment. M|Sgt. Martin Brigman is spending a 30-day leave with his family. Miss Margo Watt of Dunn spent Wednesday and Thursday with Mrs. and Mrs. Frank McNeiR. Van Matthews of State College was the weekend guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Knox Mat thews. Mr. and Mrs. J. Wimberly Bow man of Raeford spent Tuesday with relatives. Miss June Melvin of Queens College, Charlotte, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. S. Melvin. Miss Mary Lou Cameron of WUUNC, Greensboro, visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Cam eron over the weekend.
