Receiving ad vancement to First Class Scout were Richard Lockey and Ron ald Ganus, of Southern Pines, and Albert Sneed of Pinehurst. He thinks his guitar is his best passport to a career in the entertainment field, ssr “The Swan,” starring Grace Kelly and Alec Guineas, is due for release in 1956. Mr. Frye heard of the call for extras before MGM began film ing at Asheville and presented himself for interviews, passing approval of various persons be fore his final selection by Pro- Forum Will Hear The Mannes Trio As the second presentation in its current series of artists and guest speakers, the Pinehurst Fo rum will sponsor a concert by The Mannes Trio Thimsday, De cember 15, at 8:30 p. m. at the Pinehurst Country Club. The Club’s weekly buffet supper will as usual be held prior to the Fo rum meeting, at 7 p. m. Advance reservations are neces.sary for the supper. Trio members Leopold Mannes, pianist, Bronislav Gimpel, violin ist, and Luigi Silva, cellist, are now on their fourth North Amer ican tour, and in February will leave for Europe to appear in concert and iwth orchestras in England, Holland, Germany and Italy. Their concert engagements in this country since the group’s or- agnibation in 1951, have included appearances in large and small communities and at many col leges and universities throughout the United States, as well as re citals at the Library of Congress in Washington, and in New York’s Town Hall.
