Minor Repairs At Courthouse, Jail

for this term of Criminal Court,
respectfully submit the following

After examination of witness
es and in due consideration of
their sworn testimony we have
returned 15 true biUs of indict
ment; no bills were returned as
not being true bills. All bills sub
mitted were acted upon by the
Grand Jury. „

mittees made inspections and
sflbmit the following reports:
Court House
Leak in Grand Jury room has
been repaired.
Several windows in need of
repair thraoughout the' Court
House, particularly in the Farm
ers Home Administration room,
have not been repaired as recom
mended by the Grand Jury in
January, 1956.
Wet weather leaks were noted
in several basement rooms.
Mrs. Cole’s room needs fluo
rescent light shades.
Rest rooms are in need of
thorough deodorizing and urinal
in hwite men’s toilet leaks.
Windows in basement of Regis
ter of Deeds office have not been
repaired as recommended by the
Jury in January.
Frosted glass is needed in door
to office of Supervisor of Educa
tion.
Water fountain is needed on
third floor, south end of Court
House.
The Court Clerk reports that
the Justice of the Peace reports
and the Guardian and Adminis
trator and Executor reports are
up to date.
Prison Camp
Prison Camp No. 805 was
found to be in excellent condition
and well operated.
Jails
Aberdeen jail inspection re
vealed a broken toilet seat and
absence of drinking fountain in
south cell. Other cell in good con
dition.
Pinehurst jail was found to be
in good condition except for some
broken window lights.
Carthage County Jail needs a
central control switch for light
ing system in place of present
pull cords.
Plumbing system needs over
hauling and four coimmodes need
repairs to put them in operating
condition as recommended in
January, 1956.
It is recommended that wire
screen cloth be installed over
hardware cloth on windows to
keep out flies and insects; also,
hardware cloth needs replacing
on some windows.
The jail garage is in need of
repairs and it is recommended

Ernest Blake, 60, brother of Mrs.
Earl Monroe of Robbins died Fri
day at his home in Candor. He
was a merchant and retired farm
er. Funeral services were held at
the Candor Presbyterian Church
at 3 p.m. Sunday.
Surviving in addition to his sis
ter in Moore County, are his wife,
three sons, four daughters, seven
grandchildren and three brothers.
