roe Sunday to visit Mrs. Alexan
der’s father, T. C. McKnight, who
is in charge of the Presbyterian
camp for the summer.
Mrs. Jack Williams and little
son, Jack, Jr., spent last week in
Siler City with her sister, Mrs.
W. T. Howard.

spending the summer here at his

promoted to captain. He is the

Clara Whitlock visited Mr. and
Mrs. H. J. Holt in Fayetteville
over the weekend.
Miss Bell Alexander spent last
week with Mrs. E. M. Harrington
at her home on Deep River.

with them for an extended visit

Crippled Children
And x4dults Closes
Final reports on the annual
drive for funds of the Moore
County Society for Crippled Chil
dren and Adults were made today
by Miss Blanche Monroe, presi
dent.
In making the report Miss Mon
roe expressed her gratitude for the
response to the drive, which end
ed about $135 short) of the $3,000
quota.
Further contributions may be
sent to Mrs. Walter B. Cole of
Carthage, treasurer.
