Installation Service
The Rev. A. C. Trivette was in
stalled as pastor of the Vass I^es-
byterian Chiuxh in an impressive
service last Sunday night at 8
o’clock.
The Rev. T. E. Nelson of Olivia
presided and propounded the
questions to pastor and congrega
tion. The Rev. Leighton Black
McKeithen, assistant stated clerk
of Fayetteville Presbytery,
preached the installation sermon;
L. L. Woolley, ruling elder of
Brownson Memorial Presbyterian
Church in Southern Pines, gave
the charge to the pastor, and the
Rev. J. P. Young of Culdee
Church charged the people. There
was special music by the choir.
Several visitors were present
from Cameron, where the Rev.
Mr. McKeithen grew up and
where the new minister is living.
Special invitations had been sent
other churches in town and a
number from these attended.
A reception followed the serv
ice. In the receiving line were
Mrs. Eugene Hicks of the Vass
Women of the Church, the Rev.
and Mrs. Trivette and their
daughter. Miss Myrtle Jane Triv
ette, the Rev. Thomas Wolfe,
Baptist minister, and Mrs. Wolfe,
and the Rev. Jim Eskridge, Meth
odist minister. Mrs. Howard
Gschwind poured punch, and
cookies were served.
The new minister and his fam
ily had a surprise awaiting them
when they started home. A gen

in their car by the congregation
