Rev. Funderburk To Attend World Methodist Meet The Rev. J. R. Funderburk, presiding elder of the A. M. E. Zion Church, has been named a delegate to the World Methodist Conference being held at Lake Junaluska September 1 through September 12. The conference, which will at tract church leaders from all sec tions of the world. Will consist of a series of conferences and meetings on religious problems throughout the world. , Lake Junaluska, summer as sembly for Methodism’s South eastern District, is the largest church assembly grounds in the United States. It was founded by la5mien in 1913 as the summer program headquarters of Metho dists in nine Southeastern states. Since then it has grown imtil it is now considered the Southern “capitol” of Methodism. The World Methodist Confer ence is expected to draw 2,600 clergymen and laymen from 40 countries.
