5ike Riders Are
Warned Of .Rules
For Safe Driving
With the school year now in
progress, Police Chief C. E. New
ton today reminded all bicycle
riders that certain rules and regu
lations will be strictly enforced.
Chief Newton pointed up the
following rules as being the most
important:
Riders cannot hold on to anoth
er vehicle (car, truck, bicycle)
while riding a bike.
No riding on handlebars or
crossbars.
No riding on sidewalks.
No riding bikes the wrong di
rection on a one-way street.
Riders must keep to the right,
give proper hand signals and stop
at all intersections.

Eagle Award at the Moore Dis
trict Court of Honor held in
Page Memorial Methodist Church
on Monday night.
Eddie is the second son of Mr.
and Mrs. Garrison to receive the
coveted Eagle award. About
three years ago, his older broth
er, Parks, also received the
Eagle badge.
The presentation was made by
Mayor Voit Gilmore cjf Southern
Pines. Frank McNeill of Aber
deen, Advancement Chairman,
presided at the meeting.
Other merit badges and awards
presented were as follows:
Star Awards: To Jimmy Whit
lock of Aberdeen and Harry De-
Long of Pinebluff. The presenta
tion of the Star awards was made
by H. Clifton Blue of Aberdeen.
Life Awards: Jerry Gattis,
Kippy David and Harry Pickier.
First Class: Carlyle Weather-
spoon and Johnnie Phillips.

sists wholly or partly in excluding
all persons ■ from any actual in
terest or lien in or to said lands.
And the defendants will fur
ther take notice that they are re
quired to appear before the Clerk
of the Superior Court of Moore
County, North Carolina, at his
office in Carthage, within 20 days
after the 15 day of September,
1956, and answer or demur to the
complaint filed in said action or
the plaintiff will apply to the
Court for the relief demanded in
the complaint.
