Aberdeen — RocKingham MYF Outing The Methodist Youth Fellow ship went on its annual outing last Sunday, with Morrow Moun tain as the destination. The group met on the churchyard at 8 a. in., and after taking attendance and offering, set out, 21 strong, in four cars. The regular Sunday morning program was held on top of the mountain, with Dana Thomas as leader and with Bonnie Callahan, Sophia Oldham and Eddie Schweinfurth taking part. This was followed by a candlelighting installation service, led by Miss Agnes Boggs. The pastor, the Rev. James Eskridge, installed Norman Epler as president, Von- nie Mae Frye as vice president, and Ann Edwards as secretary- treasurer. After the services the group went to the picnic area where they enjoyed lunch, followed by strolls along the park trails and a trip to the boat landing. In th^ group were: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Parker, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Epler, Misses Bon nie Callahan, Mary Lynn, Sophia and Sylvia Oldham, Ann Ed wards, Dana Thomas, Joyce Scott, Vonnie Mae Frye and Ag nes Boggs, Eddie Schweinfurth, Joe Edwards, Lowell Thomas, Roy Frye, Eugene Madenford of Camp Lejeune, a guest of the Ep- lers, C. L. Tyson, teacher of the young adult class, the Rev. James Eskridge, pastor, and Mrs. S. R. Smith, counselor. Myers had as their weekend geusts and at tending the Baptist Church with them Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Willie Duke, Mr. and Mrs. Dj L. Duke and children. Rose and Jerrall, of Norway, S. C. Mrs. Allen Thompson and children, Debby McGill and Dennis, of Crossnore, who were visiting here, returned to Hamlet with them for a visit. Mrs. W. E. Gladstone, Mrs. E. L. Finch and Mrs. H. C. Callahan spent Saturday in Raleigh. M|Sgt. and Mrs. Julian C. Smith have returned from Georgia where they visited friends in Ludowici and went house-hunting in the vicinity of Fort Beiming, where Sergeant Smith is to be stationed. They were unable to find a house, so have entered the children in school here. Mr. and Mrs. Haywood Jackson and Ann Jackson of Godwin vis ited Mr. and Mrs. Hugh McLean Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. McRae and son went to Willow Springs Sim- day to see Willie Hilliard. Mr. Hilliard is staying with his brother there and farming. They found him getting along fine. “Willie,” as he is known to many throughout this section, made his home with the McRae family here for a long time.
