Pursuant to authority contained
in the North Carolina General
Statutes Chapter 160, Section 59,
and in accordance with resolution
duly adopted by the town council
of the Town of Southern Pines in
regular session assembled on the
7th. day of August 1956, the prop
erty hereinafter described having
been declared to be no longer
needed for any public purpose by
the Town of Southern Pines, and
it being determined that it is in
the best interest of said town to
sell said property, the undersign
ed wiU offer for sale at public out
cry to the highest bidder for cash
at 10:00 o’clock a.m. on the 2nd
day of October, 1956, at the front
door of the town office, that tract
or parcel of land situate in the
Town of Southern Pines, McNeill
Township, Moore County, North
Carolina, and more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at the northern
comer where Lowe Avenue
and Mechanic Street if ex
tended would intersect, in the
Town of Southern Pines and
running thence along the
Eastern boundary of said
Lowe Avenue north 36 deg.
45’ west 340 feet to a stake a
new corner; thence at an an
gle of about 26 deg. with said
eastern boundary of said
Lowe Avenue, a new line run
ning in a south easterly direc
tion 375 feet to a stake in the
northern boundary of Me
chanic Street, a new comer;
thence along said Mechanic
Street south 53 deg. 15’ west

ning, said area being a trian

reference is hereby made, said
parallelogram being further de
scribed as follows: BEGINNING
at a stake in the northerly edge of
New Hampshire Avenue, 50 feet
westerly, from its intersection
with the line of New Hampshire
Avenue, 50 feet to a stake, the
northwesterly corner of said Lot
No. 2; runs thence with the west
erly line of said Lot No. 2 and the
westerly line of Lot No. 1,100 feet
to a stake in the northerly edge of
New Hampshire Avenue; thence
with the northerly edge of said
Avenue 50 feet to the beginning.
