Trick Shot Artist
To Make Southern
Pines Home Roost
Chuck Lewis, one of the better
known trick shot artists on the
golf circuit, will be playing out
of Pine Needles Country Club in
the future, it was jointly announc
ed last week by Lewis and War
ren Bell, co-owner and manager
of the club.
Lewis’ five-year old daughter,
Linda, billed as the world’s
youngest golf professional, has
teamed with her father to make
the act one of the most widely
sought after in the county. Linda,
who once scored 51 for nine
holes, has bade numerous ap
pearances on television and has
been the subject of a number of
articles in golf magazines and
columns.
Both appeared here during the
Golf Carousel and made a big hit
with the audience. Lewis, who
has a golf bag with an amazing
assortment of trick clubs and the
gadgets, agreed with Bell at that
time to use Pine Needles as home
base.
Originally from Califorma,
Lewis said this area of the coun
try is the best he has ever seen
for golf. “These courses in this
area, particularly at this time of
year, are far better than those in
any other section of the country,
