It’s Official: '
Ike Carried Moore
With 509 Votes
Presidei/t Eisenhower won
Moore County in the recent elec
tions by a margin of 5,238 votes
to 4,729 cast for Adlai Stevenson,
according to official figures re
leased this week by the State
Board of Elections.
The figures were at only slight
variance with those compiled im
mediately after the election.
The figures for Moore County
also revealed that Gov. Hodges
won out over his Republican op
ponent, Kyle R. Hayes, 6,102 to
3,740,' and that Senator Ervin de- j
feated Joel A. Johnson 5,923 to
3,711.
In the Congressional race, the
official figures show that A. Paul
Kitchin defeated Fred Myers in
the county 5,895 to 3,759.
Statewide, Stevenson was giv
en 590,530 votes to President
Eisenhower’s 575,062.
