North Ceirolina Pa' Joint Talent Show In Sandhills Will Be Held By Lions A youth talent show, sponsor ed jointly by Lions Clubs in Pinebluff, Aberdeen, Southern Pines and West End, will be held at Weaver Auditorium March 2, according to C. C. Thompson of the Pinebluff Lions, who is pro moting the idea. ' The show, limited to school students, is primarily to promote interest and foster music appre ciation in the schools. Thompson said that each club would select three talents who would compete against each other. Professionals will also appear on the stage. Personals Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Loy and children of Burlington and Lloyd McGraw of Virginia were here over Sunday and visited their father, J. L. McGraw, who is a patient in the Veterans’ Hospi tal at Fayetteville. Mr. and Mrs. George Muse Of Conover spent the weekend here to visit their father, J. E. Muse, v/ho has been iU in the Moore County Hospital. Mr. Muse came home from the hospital Sunday. Mrs. Stacy Brewer and daugh ter, Miss Annie Margaret Brew er, were in Raeford Sunday to visit Bion Brewer who has been ill with influenza for the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Carter.of Greensboro and Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Carter of Winston-Salem spent the weekend with Mrs. John McCaskill and visited Mr. McCaskill, who is iU in the Moore County Hospital. Mrs. Carter will be with her sister, Mrs. McCaskill, for a few days. Mrs. S. F. Cole has returned home from an extended visit to Mr, and Mrs. D. B. Hargrove in El Dorado, Ark. Mrs. M. J. McPhail returned home Saturday from a two weeks’ visit to her nephew, Joseph Womble, and Mrs. Wom- ble in Irvington, N. J. While away she visited relatives in New York, Washington, D. C., Dover, Md., and Falls Church, Va. Miss Bess McCaskill was in Raleigh for the day Monday. Howcird Muse of New York was here over the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Muse. Mrs. Charles A. Cox spent the weekend in Rockingham with her daughter, Mrs. Neill McK. Clegg, and Mr. Clegg and family. Mr. and Mrs. William A. Blue and children returned , to their home in Beaufort, S. C. Sunday after a month’s visit with Mrs. Blue’s parents, the Rev. and Mrs. W. S. Golden. She received the highest score in a written examination on homemaking knowledge and at titudes, given last December, to senior girls in the graduating class. Her examination paper will be entered in competition to name North Carolina’s candidate for the “All-American Home maker of Tomorrow” and will also be considered for the run- nerup award.
