Page SIXTEEN THE PILOT—Southern Pines, North Carolina THURSDAY, JANUARY 31, 1957 TO COVER CAROLINAS Professional Management Firm For Doctors, Dentists, Locates Here Professional Management, Inc., a North Carolina corporation fur nishing business advice to physi cians and dentists exclusively, has established its home office in Southern Pines, according to Hor ace Cotton of Midland Road, pres ident and executive director of the concern. Offices have been taken in the Graves Building on Pennsylvania Ave. The organization, which has of fices in Charlotte, Raleigh and Asheville, and Columbia, S. C., started its activities in 1953. For- • merly, Charlotte was the head quarters city, but when Cotton moved his residence to Southern Pines last year it was decided to relocate the principal office in or der that he could continue to sup ervise it. Professional Management, Inc., in its four years of existence, has become widely known to doctors in the Carolinas and beyond. Cot ton is in demand as a speaker at medical society meetings, and is a frequent contributor to “Medical Economics,” a national magazine devoted to the business side of medical practice. A native of Manchester, England, he came to this country to live in 1950 after visiting the previous year on a statistical research project for the Nuffield Trust of London and Ox ford. “Our work is actually done in and around the areas where we According to 1955 DHIA data, cows producing less than 250 pounds of butterfat per cow per year are not making their own ers any money, says Marvin E. Senger, Extension dairy special ist at North Carolina State Col lege. He says that if you have any producing at this low level, now is a good time to start culling them out. Don’t let your culling program be influenced by cow sentiment, he adds. SUBSCRIBE TO THE PILOT MOORE COUNTY'S LEADING NEWS WEEKLY. AUJO LOANS ' FINANCING — REFINANCING AUTO CREDIT CO. SANFORD, N. William Ledbetter (Bill) Brown, Jr., 24, Gilbert Alson Holt, 39, and William Silas Poole, 32, had rented a nearly unfurn ished house January 15, between Carthage and Cameron. Unwont ed traffic into the property, add ed to reports from the neighbors, alerted the officers. Search war rant in hand, ABC Officer C. A. McCaUum, Deputy Sheriff A. F. Dees and a State officer visited the place last Wednesday. They found the “proprietors’” aU present, with their stock, two full cases of white whiskey and an empty case. Brown and Holt surrendered while Poole disap peared through a window, taking part of the goods along with him. He was picked up later trudging along NC 27 toward Troy, by Sheriff Dees and Carthage Police Officer J. W. McDonald. Charg ed with possession of non-tax- paid whiskey, and possession for sale, all have since made bond of $500 each for their appearance in Moore Recorders Court Monday. McCallum credited the Carth age police with active assistance in breaking the case. Brown is a member of a family prominent in both Moore and Montgomery counties, while Holt is a former Montgomery County postmaster and rural route carrier. The house which was raided is the same which received nationwide publicity about six years ago when one of the largest subma rine stills ever found in this county was seized on the prem ises, operating in a dogpen under { conditions of indescribable filth.
