D. Bruton, and family in Chadbourn, passed her 98th birthday on February 8. Mrs. Bruton has been in Chad- bourn for the past three years but is rer jmbered and lovOT by a host of latives and friends in Moore County. For several years she lived in Qarthage with her daughter, Mrs. P. H. McDonald. “Miss Kitty Ann,” a remark able lady, is growing old grace fully, is very alert in mind and enjoys visits from friends. She suffered a fall some years ago, but seems to have fully recover ed and has her meals each day with the family in the dining room. Assembly's Youth Sunday The young people of Carthage Presbyterian Church conducted the 11 o’clock service Sunday, February 3, and presented an in teresting program on “Youth Work.” Miss Janet Carter, leader, in troduced the program. Tommy Currie gave the Scripture read ing and O. D. Wallace, Jr., adult leader offered prayer. A trio composed of Mrs. G. D. Wallace, Jr., Candace McDonald and Joan Morrison sang a special number.! Francis McCaskill, Ruth Anna| McDonald and Nancy Gardner | gave informative talks on' “Christianity in Action,” “Chris-1 tianity Everywhere” and “Chris tianity Together.” Mose Boyette spoke on “What Does the Church Say to Young People?” A poem was given by Kay Patterson. Ushers were Watson Dal- rymple, Archie McLeod, Jr., John L. Currie and Don McCal- lum. I Personals Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Parks were in Robbins Sunday to visit her sister, Mrs. F. H. Upchurch. Mrs. Charles A. Cox spent the weekend with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Dudley Pendleton, in Chapel Hill. Dr. and Mrs. Arch McKeith- en and Mrs. Buckley of Cameron and the Rev. and Mrs. L. B. Mc- Keithen of Fayetteville were din ner guests in the home of Mrs. N. A. McKeithen Sunday. Miss Rose Miller of Raleigh was here over the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Russell of Kingsport, Tenn., were recent guests of Mrs. K. E. English. The Rev. and Mrs. W. S. Gold en spent the weekend in Beau fort, S. C., with their daughter, Mrs. W. A. Blue, and Mr. Blue. Mr. and Mrs. Drake Rogers of Raleigh were weekend guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wal ter McCaskiU, on Route 3. Robert Barron of Bakersville spent last week with his aunt. Mrs. K. E. English.
