Employee, Passes
Glenn C. Thomas, 52, died sud
denly last Friday afternoon at
Moore County Hospital, where
he had been carried following a
heart attack.
Funeral services were held at
Page Memorial Methodist Church
Sunday at 3 p. m. conducted by
Rev. Carl Johnson, pastor, with
burial following in Old Bethesda
Cemetery.
He was born in Jonesboro, the
son of Dock and Margaret Wat
son Thomas, and moved to Aber
deen with his family as a young
man. He had been employed for
the past JO years at Amerotron
MiUs, Inc.
Surviving are his wife, the for
mer Mary Catherine Cameron of
Aberdeen; two sisters, Mrs.
Dwight Troutman, Aberdeen, and
Mrs. Doyle Wicker, Columbia,
S. C.; and two brothers. Dock
Thomas Jr., Aberdeen, and Rob
ert Thomas, Shelby.

The Aberdeen Sub-District
Christian Worker’s School of the
Methodist Church will be held
three days, February 24-26, it
was announced this week by the
Rev. Robert L. Bame of the
Southern Pines Methodist
Church, who is dean of the
school.
Sessions are scheduled for 7:30
on each of ttie evenings, and will
be held in Page MemoriEil
Church in Aberdeen.
Courses offered are:
“Home and Church Coopera
ting in Children’s Work,’’ with
Mrs. T. A. Collins of Raleigh as
instructor. Mrs. Collins has been
a district director of children’s
work in Elizabeth City and Ra
leigh.
“Understanding Ourselves,’’
with Mrs. E. I. Terry of Raleigh

Specialist Headen, who has
been in Europe since last March,
is regularly assigned to Battery
C as a gunner.
The 1953 Pinehurst High
School graduate entered the
Army in Search, 1954, and com
pleted basic training at Fort
Chaffee, Ark.
Army Pvt. William H. Jackson
Jr., 18, whose parents live on
Route 1, West End, is receiving
basic training with the 3rd In
fantry Division at. Fort Benning,
Ga.
