Jackson and Miss Agnes Smith were hostesses to the Jane McGill Circle at the church. Mrs. Ben H. Wood presi ded and Mrs. P. A. Wilson led the Bible study with Mrs. Eugene Hicks and Mrs. C. G. Crockett, Jr., taking part. Mrs. D. F. Cam eron led the program. The group made plans for sending a dona tion of money to Flood Relief Emergency, Guerrant Presby tery, Kentucky. Mrs. Johnny Hicks was enrolled as a new cir cle member. Youth Meeting The Methodist Youth Fellow ship held its monthly evening meeting Sunday at the church, with the pastor, the Rev. James surprise birthday party in their home room last Friday. They had a large decorated cake from the bakery which they served with Coke, and presented the honoree a gift from the class. Attend Funral Mrs. John Flinchum of Pilot Mountain, sister of D. E. Hudson of Vass, died last Friday night. Attending the funeral Sunday from Vass were Mr. Hudson, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Hudson, Clifford Hudson, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Hudson, and Mr. and Mrs. Doug las Blackmon. Dinner Patty Mr. and Mrs. Page Choate and Chick Sturdivant of Southern Pines entertained at a dinner party at their home Friday night as a birthday compliment to Hor ace Mullinix of Vass. Personals Mr. and Mrs. Herbert CaddeU, Herbert, Jr., Mrs. Mary Cox and Charles Hubert Cox went to Chapel Hill Sunday to see Wayne CaddeU, who sustained a fractured skull in a fall at his home a week earlier. He was getting along nicely. Mrs. Allen Thompson and chil dren, Debby and Dennis, of Crossnore arrived on Wednesday of last week and are remaining through this week with the D. H. McGills and Baker relatives. Debby accompanied her grand mother, Mrs. McGiU, to Hamlet Sunday and her great-grand mother, Mrs. W. D. McCraney, returned home to Vass with them. Norman Epler returned home from the Veterans Hospital at Durham last week after spending 10 days there for examination. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Mullinix, their daughter, Jeanette, and son, Jimmy, visited Mrs. W. N. Mullinix, Sr., at Uwharrie Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. W. N. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gschwind left by plane Tuesday morning on the return trip home. Mrs. P. B. Irby, Jr., and chil dren, Susan, Chip and John, were in Raleigh from Friday until Sunday visiting the children’s grandmother, Mrs. Mary Irby. Mrs. A. M.
