Donsild Sherrerd, whose marriage to Ens. Philip White, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. White, takes place Saturday afternoon at the Pinehurst Com munity Church. The groom’s par ents will be hosts to the bridal party at a dinner Friday night at the Carolina Hotel. Crotty, and Mr. Crotty during her spring vacation. Miss Mary Anne Carter, a stu dent at the National Cathedral School in Washington, D. C., ar rived Tuesday to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Carter, after spending a portion of her vacation with her grandmother, Mrs. H. M. Adams in Somerville, N. J. Mr. and Mrs. Durban McGraw and their four children of Pitts burgh, Pa., get in tomorrow for a month at Mrs. Norfleet P. Ray’s cottage. Stepping Stones, which they have leased through Kenne dy & Co. Keith Wed lock spent the weekend at the Hotel William R. Barringer in Charlotte where Mr. Wedlock was among 425 alumni in attendance at the meeting of North and South Carolina alumni. Porter of Greensboro was the weekend guest of her parents, Mr. and Basic Leadership Courses For Girl Scouts Planned A basic group leadership course in Girl Scouting is being given three nights at the Catho lic School here next week, it has been annoimced by Miss Cathryn Mrs.| H. A. Campbell. Mrs. Hulon Cole had as her guest last weekend her daughter, Mrs. John Biggers of Hertford, S. C. Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. McManus spent the weekend at Myrtle Beach, S. C. Creasman, executive director, and Miss Sophia White, field' direc tor of the Central Carolina Coun cil. The courses, for all leaders, as sistants, troop committee mem bers, Scout parents and others interested in the program, are scheduled April 1, 3, and 9 from 7:30 to 10 p. m. , ' One other course was taught last night Miss Creasman said the courses would be the only ones offered in Moore District until Septem ber. ’The average yield of wheat in North Carolina last year was the highest on record.
