Monroe, to the absence of the chairman Miss Currie McLeod presided over the meeting. Fol lowing the business meeting Mrs. John L.' Frye gave the Bible study and Miss Lily Bulla the “Let’s Talk About.’’ Delicious re freshments were served by the hostess. The Monroe Circle met at the home of Mrs. BiU ThraUkiU with the chairman, Mrs. Norman Monroe, presiding. Mrs. W. O. Nelson gave the Bible study and Miss Edith Meacham presented the “Let’s Talk About.’’ Mrs. Wes Patton, co-hostess, assisted the hostess in serving delicious refreshments. Woman's Club The Robbins Woman’s Club met Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 at the clubhouse, with the presi dent, Mrs. W. M. Puckett, presi ding. Miss Jane Owen, local high school student, gave an interest- the 4-H clubs. Miss Owen has won many awards for her 4-H work. Plans were made for a cake sale to be held Friday and Satur day by the members. Book Review Sheldon Koesy of Presbyterian Junior College is conducting a book review for the Women of the Chirrch of Elise Presbyterian Chxurch. The book, “Thus Saith The Lord,’’ is a presentation of the minor prophets of the Bible, and comes as a part of the Spir itual Enrichment season. On Friday night as one of the final pre-Easter services at the Presbyterian Church, Dr. L. P. McClenny will return to bring a message on The Cross. Dr. Mc Clenny recently conducted the highly successful Robbins Area Crusade For Christ. Rep. H. Clifton Blue of Aberdeen told members of the Moore County Wildlife club Tuesday night of last week. to addition, the Commission receives from the U. S. govern ment the federal taxes on sport ing goods, in proportion to the number of hunting and fishing licenses sold in the State. However, in answer to a query, Rep. Blue said that fines paid in connection with court cases in volving violation of the game laws go to the county school fund, like any other fines. The Commission has operated as a separate State agency since 1947, when it was separated from the State Department of Conser vation and Development. Work ing with it, but purely as a vol unteer membership organization, without legal powers, is the North Carolina Wildlife Federa tion, made up of community and county clubs all over the State. As a part of the Federation, the Moore County Wildlife club and others have a channel for expres sion of their views on pertinent legislation, and other matters af fecting the cause they hold dear. The controversial “worm bill’’ has been shelved for the time be ing, because of opposition from all parts of the State; the bill in creasing the costs of hunting and fishing licenses has been passed, and the “doe deer’’ bill, which has received general endorse ment of the local clubs, has not yet come up for discussion.
