Announces Varied
Summer Courses
Flora Macdonald College at
Red Springs will offer about 40
courses during toe 1957 summer
session, beginning Jime 10.
There wiU be courses offered
by toe departments of Bible,
Business, English, French, Fine
Arts, History and Social Science,
Psychology, Education, Spanish,
toe Natural Sciences, and Music.
Five workshops are scheduled.
They include: “Art in the Ele
mentary School,” “Guidance and
Counseling in toe Public
Schools,” "Speech for toe Class
room Teacher,” “Field Biology,"
and “Music Education.”
Private voice lessons will also
be available and Dr. Charles G.
VardeU, Jr., will offer piano in
struction.
There are a number of scholar
ships available and persons in
terested are urged to write Pro
fessor Rodger Decker as soon as
possible. The summer session
will last dive weeks, through
July 13.
Visiting lecturers include Mrs.
William Reagan Of toe Red
Springs school system, Mrs.
Francis Smith McNeill of the
Robeson County school system
and Mr. S. R. Cotton of the Cum
berland County school system^
