Twenty mem bers and one visitor were pres ent. Mrs. R. G. McCaskill presided over the business and also pre sented the program, “Our Home Mission Centers and Races.” Refreshments were served at the close of the meeting. Personals Mrs. M. S. Weaver and son Michael and Mrs. Grace Trout man visited Mrs. Troutman’s sis ter, Mrs. G. C. Haynes, at Cliff- side and Dr. and Mrs. B. S. Troutman at Lenoir over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Johnson of Charlotte were callers at the W. K. Carpenter, Sr., home recently. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Carpenter and children spent last weekend at Atkinson with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Gray. Mr. and Mrs. James W. Teal spent Sunday in Durham with their daughter, Mrs. Carroll Brooks, and Mr. Brooks. Mr. and Mrs. Drewry Trout man and children have returned home from Miami, Fla., where Mr. Troutman attended the 'Pregfoyterian men’s convention. Mrs. G. W. Lee accompanied them to Columbia and visited Mrs. Lillie Murray. Miss Juanita Teal spent last weekend in Wadesboro with her cousin. Miss Nancy Batten. Church Women to Meet Among loced representatives at the 68th annual meeting of the Presbyterian Women of the Church of Fayetteville Presbyte ry, being held October 23-24 at Lillington Presbjrterian Church, will be Mrs. Herman Campbell of Pinehurst and Mrs. Roy KeUy of Southern Pines. Mrs. Campbell will preside over the sessions of the Presbyterial executive board of which Mrs., Kelly is corres ponding secretary. Brief Mention Mr. and Mrs. Donald D. Wolff of Pittsburgh, Pa., are spending 10 days at their cottage here. Smith of Green^burg, Pa., are occupying their cottage here for three weeks. Mrs. A. J. DeBevoise and her daughter, Linda, are due to arrive here tomorrow from Huntington, L. I., to occupy their Midland Rd. home for a short visit. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W. Strode arrived Isist week from West Chester, Pa., and are in their home, recently purchased from the William Wilsons, for a few weeks. Mr. and Mrs. William H. Schille got in Wednesday from Montclair, N. J., and are at their home, Sil va Nidus, for the season. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur J. Lacey of Buffalo, N. Y., returned Tues day to their Midland Rd. place which they will occupy for the winter season. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Robins left Sunday for New York City where they will spend a month. Mr. and Mrs. James Aldridge of Englewood, N. J., are spending this week with her father, Harry Hogg, at Barberry Cottage. Mrs. Louis E. , Manning, who with her small daughter is here for the winter with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Kennedy, is spending this weekend in Talla hassee, Fla., where she will attend the Florida’ State Homecoming football game. Mr. Manning, a student at Florida State College, is a member of the football team. Mr. and Mrs. Richard S. Lover ing are occupying their cottage at Pawley’s Island, S. C., this week and have as their guests their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. David P. Dana, of Lenox, Mass. Mr. and Mrs. William Parfitt of Pittsburgh, Pa., have opened their cottage here and have with them for a visit her mother, Mrs. Mar tha Blake, of Indianola, Iowa. Sledge, ac companied by Mrs. Miriam Rabb of Raleigh, last weekend attended the North Carolina Press Wom- Rites Conducted For Pete Gaddy, Killed In Wreck Funeral services for A-2C Pear son (Pete) Davis Gaddy, 18, who was-killed in an auto accident near Cameron Saturday, were held at the Cameron Baptist Church Moiiday. The Rev. J. B. Cooper and the Rev. T. E. Nelson officiated. Burial was held in Johnson Grove cemetery with full military honors. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Davis L.
