They will attend church services in Elizabethtown. Don Francois, Jeanette Mulli- nix. Bill Frye, Jo Ann Brewer, Ann Frye and Joe Garza picnick ed at Morrow Mountain Monday and returned home by way of Ophir. Mrs. J. W. Height of Greens boro is visiting relatives, one of whom is Mrs. Stutts, in Vass this week. Mrs. Doris Womack of San ford also visited Mrs. Stutts over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs, J. J. Crotts and Billy Rowe of Alexandria, Va. visited Mr. arid Mrs. Charles Cameron and family over the Fourth. Sgt. l|c Lawrence Buie arrived home Monday after an eight months’ tour of duty in Korea. Deputy Sheriff R. A. Edwards and Roger Marion got home Mon day after returning a prisoner from Ocala, Fla. Mrs. G. M. Blue was taken to Laurinburg Saturday by Mrs. R. [A. Edwards and Mrs. Roger Mari- jon for a visit with her sister, Mrs. Lee Wilks. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Mullinix and son Jimmy visited relatives in Ophir Monday. Those who visited Mr. and Mrs. Edward Griffin over the weekend were Mrs. Griffin’s sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. M. E. King of Raleigh Friday afternoon; Mr. and Mrs. Royster Baker and ‘daughters, Janet, Emily and Jen nifer of Willow Springs Sunday afternoon, and Mrs. Griffin’s sis ter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Pierce and son David of Ra leigh Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Bobbie Hudson and children Janet, Jimmy and Joan and Bobbie’s brother, Clif ford visited Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Jenkins of Hillsville. Pvt. Charles Fowler of Ft. Ben- ning, Ga. spent the weekend at home on leave. Mr. and Mrs. George Grabner of Northburger, N. J. and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Klingenschmidt, and Hope, were Thursday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Klingen.schmidt and family. Pair Arrested at Still Site Make $500 Bond Each A couple of residents of Shef field Township who failed to take holiday Monday were busily at work when an interruption cam^ in the form of an ABC raid. London Sanders, 41, and Major Sanders, 29, were caught at the ^site of a small still in operation about a mile back in the woods, between the talc mine and Spies, it was reported by Chief Moore County ABC Officer C. A. Mc- Callum. Major Sanders ran when Mc- Gallum appeared, with ABC Of ficer June Cockman and Deputy Sheriff I. D. Marley. He was quickly apprehended. Both men were taken before JP Charles MacLeod at Carthage where bonds were set at $500, which they made, for their appearance in Moore Recorder’s Court Monday. Seized were the small five-gal lon copper still, two 55-gallon fermenter barrels of mash and one of 30 gallons, also one gallon of new-run whiskey. Both the operators have federal records of whiskey law violations. visited friends and relatives in Ophir and Troy last week. Mrs. T.
