After a visit there, they plan to fly to Rome, Florence and Venice, Italy; they will attend the Mozart festival in Salzburg, Aus tria, and will then go on to visit Germany. Switzerland and Bel gium. After a trip to London, they will return to New York the first week in September. Briefs Edward Fearney arrived Sat urday for the weekend with his wife and four children who have been visiting her parents, the Rev. and Mrs. Marshall B. Wyatt here for the past month. The FeEnneys left Tuesday to return to their home in Tallahassee, Fla. Mrs. Harry Hogg and her granddaughter, Louise Aldridge their children, Nancy and Jimmy, and Mr. and Mrs. William C. Sledge and son, Billy, returned this weekend from Linville where they had a cottage for a week. Mr. and Mrs. Bevins Cameron, their children, Jimmy, Kathy and Scott, and Mrs. Cameron’s moth er, Mrs. Blanche Wescott, leave Friday for five days with rela tives in Onancock, Va. Bonnie Nugent, who has been visiting her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. William Freisenbruch in Bermuda for several weeks, is due to arrive home by plane to morrow (Friday). Mrs. Francis Ray left last week end for 10 days with her mother, at the latter’s cottage in Linville. Capt. Colin W. McKenzie, Jr., who flew home from Augsburg, Germany Thursday on emergency leave following the death of his father, returned to Germany Wednesday. His sister, Mrs. Eu gene Scholls of Durham, is ex of Englewood, N. J. came down-P®*^^®^ today for a weekend visit last week and were joined byl^'i^^ mother. Mr. and Mrs. Mrs. Hogg’s daughter, Mrs. Ed-'Jack van Ryswyk of Matti^ck, ward Lawson and Penelope, who drove from St. Clair’s Shores, Mich, to attend the graduation of Mrs. Lawson’s daughter. Miss Katherine Swoope from nursing school at Mercy Hospital in Char lotte, where she will return to join the nursing staff on August 29. Miss Katherine, a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Greensboro, and her brother. Chip Swoope, of Charlotte, joined the family group here for a va cation at Barberry Cottage this week. Also visiting Mrs. Hogg are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Smith of Bogota, N. J. Dr. and Mrs. D. D. Gadd and N. Y. came down for Mr. McKen zie’s funeral Thursday. Andy Huntley, who has been visiting his grandmother, Mrs. S. A. Henuessee and her family here for the past week, returned Tuesday to the home of his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Huntley in Raleigh. Mrs. Isham C. Sledge left last Wednesday for Trenton, N. J. where she joined her daughter. Miss Katherine P. Sledge, who has for the past fortnight been vis iting friends on the eastern shore of Maryland and in Spring Lake, N. J. The two of them then drove to York Harbor, Me., where they WITHTHE Armed Forces William A. Rose, hospital corpsman first class. USN, of 240 E. Massachusetts Ave., returned July 25 to Long Beach, Calif., aboard the dock landing ship USS Point Defiance after a six-month tour of duty with the U. S. Sev enth Fleet in the Western Patific. The Point Defiance participated in operation “Blue Star,” in March, an amphibious landing exercise on Formosa, as a second ary control vessel. She also par ticipated in operation “Seahawk” at Pohar.g, Korea, in June, carry- ling Under Water Demolition Team 12 in advance and recon naissance operations. During the cruise, visits were made to Taiwan, Okinawa, Jaoan and Hong Kong. Army Specialist Four Noah Malloy, whose wife, Helen, lives at 240 N. Henley St., recently ar rived in Germany and is now a member of the 34th Signal Bat talion. Specialist Malloy is a mechanic m the ]|pattalion s Headquarters Company in Ludwigsburg.
