Page TEN THE PILOT—Southern Pines, North Carolina THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 1961 Rites Held at Pinebluff For Mrs. Kittredge Mrs. Hazel Waters Kittredge, 68, wife of Thomas Kittredge, of Pinebluff, died Monday at Moore Memorial Hospital. Graveside services were con ducted at Pinebluff Cemetery Wednesday afternoon, by Roland Delano of Pinebluff, first reader of First Church of Christ, Scien tist, Southern Pines. Mrs. Kittredge was a native of Connecticut, and came here with her husband six years ago from Rutherford, N. J. Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters, Mrs. Russell O. Hedman and Mrs. William M. Kearney, both of New Jersey, and Mrs. Peter L. Borden of Sunnyvale, Calif.; 11 grand children; and one sister, Mrs. Waldo Honold, Winsted, Conn. The baby weighed eiglu pounds, 14 Vz ounocs and has been named Joseph-Allen. Mrs. Marks is the former Miss Anne Pleasants. Grandparents of the new baby are Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Pleasants and Mrs-. Ruth Marks. Marriage Announced Mr. and Mrs. Willie M. Smith have announced the marriage of their daughter, Julia Ellen, to Basil Ray Pigg, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Pigg . Approximatelv 50 friends enjoyed dancing and refreshments during the evening. Wins Trip Mickey Melvin left Tuesday for a trip to New Orleans as a win ner in the Charlotte News con test. He is the local agent for the evening paper and wishes to ex press his appreciation to his cus tomers for helping to make this trip possible. Lindsey Neill, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Neill has spent the last week as a patient at Meni- orial Hospital, Chapel Hill. His mother accompanied him there and has been staying with him. Chaplain and Mrs. Richard Hopkins of McCain and the Rev. and Mrs. R. D, Spear, Jr. attend ed the Monday session of the N. C. State Baptist Convention in Greensboro last week. Mrs. Harry Watson and Ricky visited her sister, Ivirs. Russell Walton, Jr. in Raleigh Saturday while Mr. Watson attended the Duke-Carolina Game. Mrs. Paul Jordan returned to her home in Wilmington Tuesday following a few days’ visit with Mr. and Mrs. Frank McNeill and children. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence John son and Mrs. Talbot Johnson at tended the Copley-Cockman wed ding in Albemarle Sunday after noon. , Miss Dorothy McNeill of Chap el Hill spent the weekend with her family. Miss Stuart Harmon will be guest of Mrs. Frank Mizell during the Thanksgiving holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Clark W. Toole, Jr. and children, Clark III and Libby of Jacksonville, Fla. will spend the Thanksgiving holidays with her mother, Mrs. Sam Wor- sley.
