THANKSGIVING
#
Once more November’s cornucopia spills
Her harvest largess over fields and hills.
Orchards and rangelands stretching sea to sea,
Fulfillihg Spring’s bright promise lavishly!
In town and village families gather in
For happy hours with reunited kin;
And savory fragrances from kitchens rise,
A true Thanksgiving incense, to the skies!
We thank Thee, Lord, for tables richly spread,
-But most for peace that sweetens daily bread!
For friends and home, for work, and love that lights
Our busy days. And for those hard-won rights
To think, to speak, to worship as we please—
Lord, give us grace always to cherish these!
And more—help us to seek for ways to share
These precious gifts with all men everywheipe.
