The Ives and their guest drove
to Winston-Salem Sunday where
they spent a night with Mr. and

ence Von Tacky presiding.
A guest of the program com
mittee, comprising Mrs. B. F
Kraffert and Mrs. L. T. Avery,
was Mrs Samuel Hutaff of Fay
etteville.
Mrs. Hutaff is the daughter of
Col. and Mrs. O. A. Dickinson
and a sister of Mrs. Hoke Pollock,
of Southern Pines. Her discus
sion of interpretive flower ar
rangements she illustrated by
forming arrangements as she
talked, using vari-colored scarves
to show the importance of back
ground in a floral concept.
Perhaps her most unusual ef
fect Mrs. Hutaff obtained by plac
ing red glads in a column in the
center of a twisted wisteria
bough—the arrangement she
titled “Progeny.”
The speaker pointed out that
the new space concepts made pos
sible new ideas of floral decora
tions; however, she noted, all are
not adaptable to all homes. Each
individual, she said, should seek
to express her own ideas in creat
ing floral arrangements.
The Men’s Garden Club, of
