An orchestra composed of the outstanding instrumental ists of North Carolina, and four nationally renowned oratorio soloists will perform under the direction of Dr. Ross. EHRMAN PICKLER WSCS Meets The Woman's Society of Chris tian Service of the Pinebluff Methodist church met Monday night at 8 o’clock at the home of Mrs. M. F. Butner, with Mrs. E. H. Mills and Mrs. M, L. Bryant as co-hostesses. Mrs. Harvey La- than had charge of the program, “Jesus Christ, the Light of the World.” A Question and Answer Period with Mrs. O. C. Adcox, Mrs. Clay Parker and Mrs. Julian Scott taking part was enjoyed by the members present. Mrs. O. C. Adcox, president, presided and heard report^. Edllowing the meeting the hiostesses served re freshments. The next meeting will be on December 11 at the home of Mrs. O. C Adcox, with Mrs. B. A. Mor gan, Mrs. Dorothy Brally, Mrs. J. W. Pickier, Mrs. Richard Graham, Mrs. E. F. Pickier and Mrs. Ad cox as hostesses. This will be the Christmas meeting and it is hoped that all members will plan to be present. Celebrates Birthday Becky Brooks celebrated her 12th birthday on November 22 at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Brady Brooks. Cake and ice cream were served to the guests and the gifts opened and ac knowledged. Then the following guests, along with Becky, attend ed a movie: Cathy Carpenter, Kathy McMurray, Debbie Mor gan, Dian Pratt, Judy and June Woodcock, Wanda Buchanan and Wanda Holden, • Nicest Girft Rachel Carpenter observed her seventh birthday on Saturday, Nov. 25 and her nicest birthday gift was a little brother born to her parents, Mr .and Mrs. Virgil Carpenter, at Moore Memorial Hospital on Saturday night. The baby weighed eight pounds, sev en ounces and has been named Charles Curtis. The Carpenters have two other children, Janet, five years old, and Jimmy who is nine. Miss Earlene Lampley went to Charlotte for the holidays with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Royce Anderson. On Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Lamp- ley met her in Wadesboro. The Andersons accompanied her to Wadesboro and returned to Char lotte in the afternoon. Melvin Wall and sons, Jerry and Dale, went to Reidsville on Thanksgiving for the day with his sister, Mrs. Norman Styres and Mr. Styres. Mr Wall’s moth- er accomjpanied them home and will be their guest for several weeks. Miss Marilyn Mills of Raleigh was at home for the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Mills. Miss Becky Brooks spent the weekend in Laurinburg with her New Corporation Articles Filed Articles of incorporation have been filed at Carthage for One Hundred Seventy Six North-West Broad, Inc., of Southern Pines, with 10,000 authorized shares of common stock with par value set at $10 per share. Incorporators are named as Frederick J. Mahoney of New ton, Mass., and Garland McPher son and Dr. P. J. Chester of Southern Pines. The office ad dress is given as 176 N. W. Broad St., with McPherson named as the initial resident agent. The address is that of the old Patch’s Department Store build ing, which was recently purchased by Mahoney at public auction. The new corporation is char tered “to buy and sell real estate, build and mortgage buildings, manufacture and deal, in goods and wares, real and personal, buy, sell and trade and conduct a general merchandising busi ness.” Intention to incorporate was announced several weeks ago by Mr. McPherson who said a de sirable tenant is being sought for the former Patch’s store space. George W. Tyner Dies; Rites Held Here on Monday I George W. Tyner, 61, of Mid land Road, died Saturday at Moore Memorial Hospital. Funer al services were held Monday afternoon at Emmanuel Episcopal Church by the Rev. Martin Cald well. Burial followed in Pinebluff Cemetery. Mr. Tyner was born at Pine bluff and was a painting contrac tor. Surviving are his wife, the for mer Ola Hildreth Fisher of Wadesboro; one son, Victor ’Tyner I of New York City; his mother, [Mrs. W.
