The Minister Speaks The Rev. Kemper Fitch, pastor of Culdee, spoke to the Men of the Presbyterian Church Sunday evening at their supper meeting. The Rev. Mr, Fitch urged chimch members to rededicate their lives to the covenant which each made when he joined the church. The Rev. George Houck installed the following officers for the coming year; president, Archie Farmer; vice-president, Earl Auman; and secretary-treasurer. North Lewis. Special guests for the meeting were members of the Senior High Fellowship and their advisors. Misses Bert McCrummen and Tressie Auman. Sub-District Meet The Methodist Youth Fellow ship was host to the Moore-Mont gomery Sub-District meeting at the Church on Monday evening. The local presidents participated in a panel discussion on “What Daily Devotions Mean to Me” with Linda Williams representing the local group. The WSCS served refreshments, with the committee composed of Mrs. J. F. Sinclair, Mrs. E. L. Sutphin, and Mrs. A. J. Hanner. The advisors for the Youth Fellowship are Mrs. Han ner, Roy Swaringen, and the Rev. Aaron Tyson. Birthday Parly Jennifer Clark celebrated her fifth birthday Wednesday with a party for the following friends: Robert Gordon, Cindy Craven, Susan Auman, Sunny Upole, Cary McDonald, Van Cole, Thad Rector Mark McNeill, Martha Thompson Jennifer Mclnnis, Kenneth Mc- Caskill, and her cousins, Lisa and Karen Sidberry of Biscoe. Assisting Jennifer’s mother, Mrs. Robert Clark, with games and serving the guests were Mrs Allan McDonald and Angus, and Mrs. Eugene Sidberry of Biscoe. There was four-tiered birthday cake decorated with a miniature maypole complete with flowers and ribbons and with that, the children had ice cream and punch. For favors, Jennifer had Santa Claus candles to mark each guest’s place along with balloons, lollipops, and party hats. Personals Sunday afternoon guests of the Fred Monroes were Howard Hucks and his mother and sister. Miss Velma Hucks of Bennetts ville, S. C. Howard is remember ed here as an employee in the office of the Sandhill Furniture Corporation who made his home with the Monroes at that time. Second Lt. Clyde W. Auman was graduated from Quartermas ter School at Fort Lee, Va. on Tuesday and' reported for duty Wednesday at Fort Bragg. He was accompanied home by 2nd Lt. Edward Hospodar of Pittsburgh, Pa. who Eilso reported for duty at Fort Bragg. Mrs. Walter Porter, Mrs. Lena Ladu and Miss Tressie Auman represented the school at a Work shop Saturday at the Carrboro School in preparation for the North Carolina Symphony Or chestra’s visit to the county. The Archie Farmer family visit ed Miss Karen Farmer at St. Andrews Presbyterian College on Sunday. Attending the Army-Navy foot ball game on Saturday in Phila delphia were Mr. and Mrs. Win- ford Williams, Clement Williams of St. Andrews Presbyterian Col lege and Miss Barbara Moon, also of St. Andrews and Lumherton. Attending the Boy Scout recog nition dinner at Southern Pines Friday evening were Scoutmaster and Mrs. Floyd Cole, Mrs. North Lewis, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Sin clair, the Rev.,and Mrs. George Houck, and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Sutphin. Mrs. Sutphin was in charge of the table decoration and arrangements for the local group. Miss Mary Ida Hodge, of Salisbury at Woman’s College. They also visit ed with Mrs. Johnson’s mother, Mrs. Morgan, at a High Point nursing home. Visiting Fred and Kay Hack ney in Rockingham on Sunday afternoon ' were Mrs. Minnie Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. on and Mrs. Carl Stout of Star and Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Auman with Graham of Sanford. Mr. and Mrs. Julian Surles and Grace Lewis have returned to Washington, D. C. after a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cran ford. Sunday guests of the Cran fords were Mr. and Mrs. E.
