Harry Fullenwider means what he says in the un usual conditions he imposes when suspending sentence or continu ing judgment in cases involving violation of tralfice laws. Donnie Chavis, 19, was tried February 7 in the local court for speeding 70 miles per hour in a 35 zone and reckless driving. He pleaded not guilty but was found guilty and jud^ent was con tinued on condition that he walk to his home (an option offered in lieu of a fine) and that he not be in any automobile, except to and from work or on specific er rands for his parents, during a period of 30 days. Before the 30 days had elapsed, however, he was seen by an officer riding in a car with other youths in violation of the condi tions laid down by the judge. Dorothy'Warner, vile and pro fane language, $10 and costs; Ro- bie Lee Stover, public drunk, one month in county jail (light work only); George Rogers, Aberdeen, public drunk, one month on roads, suspended sentence in former case to be executed; James Rich ardson, drunk and disorderly, plea of guilty of public drunk accept ed, pay the costs; Robert Edward Rast, drunken driving, $100 fine and costs, stay in town jail until 6 p.m. on day of trial, surrender driver’s license for revocation; Ethel M. EHRMAN PICKLER Cub Scouts The Cub Scouts of Pack' 206, Pinebluff, enjoyed a trip to the Morehead Planetarium at Chapel Hill Suhday. A-2c Jerry Troutman of Char leston AFB was at home several days last week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Troutman Sr. Mr. and Mrs. James W. Smith of Oak Ridge visited Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Smith and faimily Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. McHam of Sanford visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Adcox Sunday. Miss Janie Clark, Jackson Springs, Succumbs at 84 Miss Janie Clark of Jackson Springs, who would have been 84 years old next Monday, died Sunday afternoon at Moore Me morial Hospital after being hos pitalized for two months. She was the daughter of the late Sarah Elizabeth Ray Clark and N. D. J. Clark and had spent her entire life in this community. For many years, she was )em- ployed as a bookkeeper for the M. C. McDonald Company of West End and prior to that was employed with the Holiday Com pany of Jackson Springs. Ten years ago, She broke a pelvis bone and since that time had been a semi-invalid and had made her home with a nephew, Carlyle Clark. She was a life long mem ber of the Jackson Springs Pres byterian Church and was a love able friend to everyone in the carrmunity. She is survived by two brothers. Malcolm A. Clark of Jackson Springs and J. P. Clark of HEimlet; three nieces, Mrs. Raymond Sea- well of Jackson Springs, Mrs. Bivens Jackson, Dunn, and Mrs. George Barta, Little Neck, Long Island, N. Y.; and three nephews, Carlyle Clark, Jackson Springs; Robert Clark, West End; and Gil bert Clark, Donna, Texas. Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at the Jstckson Springs Presbyterian Church with the Rev. W. A. Brown of, Wade and the Rev. Lacy McDuffie of Candor officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Marian Sessoms and children, Marion and Michael, of Charlotte, spent last weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Sessoms. Electric Workshop Slated March 15 There will be a 4-H Electric Workshop Thursday, March 15, at 7 p. m. in the Home Economic agent’s office of the county court house. Don Morris of Carolina Power & Light Company in San ford will conduct the workshop All interested 4-H Club mem bers, leaders and parents are in vited to attend. Boys and girls taking the 4-H Electric project should attend this workshop. Mr. Morris will give a demon stration, followed by a work peri od for boys and girls after which he will give club members ideas to use for demonstration and pro jects. Ideas will also be given for exhibits and record keeping. Only two per cent of federal support to science goes to agri culture, compared to about 40 per cent in 1940. Circle 1 of Ives Memorial Bap tist Church met Monday morning at the home of Mrs. Claude Wil liams with 11 members and three visitors present. Mrs. H. L. Ses^ soms gave the devotional and presented the program on Wit nessing. At the close of the meet ing, the hostess served lunch to the members present. .
