WORDS OF WISDOM
Words of wisdom from the
North Carolina Department of
Motor Vehicles: Every driver has
a moral responsibility to keep his
car in a safe mechanical condi
tion. Most drivers would be horri-
i od at the thought they might
commit murder or suicide, yet
they place themselves in danger
of doing so every time they drive
mechanically unsafe vehicles,

CONSULT YOUR SENSES
The North Carolina Department
:f Motor Vehicles says it’s good
sense to consult your senses about
the mechanical safety of your car.
For instance, the sense of hearing
will detect a knock in the engine
. . sight will spot worn tires, in
efficient lights and windshield
wipers. . . touch will disclose de
fective brakes and steering gear.
