Veterans from World War I, World War II and the Korean war were present. Personals Mrs. W. R. Clegg, Jr. is ill in a Cleveland Hospital and Mrs. W. R. Clegg has gone for a visit with her and her son. Mrs. Clegg un derwent surgery last week. Mr. and Mrs. Holt McNeill are leaving Carthage this week for Dobson where they will make their home. Carthage people re gret very much to have them move as they have many friends here. Larry Gravette of UNC, Chap el Hill, spent this weekend in Carthage with friends. Miss Kinsey Sabiston is hav ing a 10-day spring vacation from Salem Academy, Winston-Salem, and will be with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William D. Sabiston. Mrs. O. B. Welch of Harmony is thg guest of Mrs. L. R. Sugg and other friends here this week. Mrs. Welch was once a resident here. Mrs. Carlos MacLeod and sons, Alton and Carlos, of Olivia, spent Sunday with Miss Jani.s MacLeod and attended the morning wor ship service at the Carthage Pres byterian Church. John L. Currie was home from UNC, for a visit with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Currie. Mrs. M. IG. Boyette is home from a visit with Mr. and Mrs. M. G. Boyette, Jr. in Chapel Hill. Fri'^nds of P. H. McDonald are glad to know that he is getting along nicely in Moore Memorial Hospital^ where he has been a patient for some time. Mrs. Emma Cole is improving at her home here after treatment in Moore Memorial Hospital. Mrs. 'Turner Of Florida is vis iting her daughter and son-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. Wilton Brown. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Currie and children, Hoke and Lynn, spent last weekend in Timmonsville, S. C., visiting Mrs. Marion Wig-gins. They attended worship service in the First Presbyterian Church in Florence where they heard Tom my Currie sing" Vith the choir of the Presbyterian College of Clin ton, S. C. Mrs. Sadie K. Wall has return ed from a visit with Mrs. Young Allen and family in Lumberton. Mrs. Curtis Muse has returned from a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Miller in Statesville. She was accompanied home by Mrs. S. H. Miller who will spend some time here with Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Palmer left for their home after a visit to the family of the late Mrs. M. McL. Kelly. heroics. When his error is un covered, he gets all snarled up again trying to right matters with an indignant wife. The gruesome premise gets in the way of the hilarity at times but “Iggie” squeezes out the the laughs anyway, and so does Joan DeWeese, who as Judy, the wife, is not only beautiful but proves herself a slick comedienne. Funniest bits are the Walter Mit- ty-type dreanxs in which both in dulge on occasion as their frus tration with each other heightens. J. Talbot Holland as the erst while college pal whom -‘Iggie” picks out to ha Judy’s second husband is pretty funny too.* It’s a comedy of New York’s Exurbia, slickly produced with highly pro fessional cast, others of whom are Charles Waterman, James Vann, Bruce Hall, Henry Stroz- ier. Bob Langton, James Bate man, Dean Delk, Bruce Craig and Cornelia- Johnson. Lynn Pecktal has done a delightful and colorful set. In the midst of the opening- night curtain calls “Iggie” sum moned from the audience a new arrival, and introduced him, to much applause—Art James, well- known TV personality here to rehearse this *week and play 'the lead in next week’s offering, “Mr. Roberts.” Plays run from Tuesday through Sunday night, curtain at 8:30 (Opening night 8:15) with Saturday matinee at 2. —V. A car-wash for later in the month was discussed. The tentative date of May 4 was set for a Post weekend at Car olina Beach. On March 19, the Post held a meeting and after the business was dismissed Harold Bridgeman of Southern Pines gave a talk on stock-car and sports-car racing. I-.^ is an ex-race driver with ex perience in drag racing and many questions were asked by the interested members.
