Tropical cross-strip*s of
deep blue, rich green,
mysterious russet blend
into color magic for boys.
McGregor takes these
fresh colors and taUors
them into a traditional
natural shoulder, three-
button sport coat of soft
and silky-smooth cotton.
And the whole outfit is
color-coordinated...as
handsome as your boy.

Fund Drive Leaders
West End is being asked to do
its part on the $450,000 Building
Fund for Moore Memorial Hos
pital, with Allan McDonald serv
ing as the chairnrian. There were
319 West Enders treated last year
at the hospital and truly it is our
hospital and deserves our financi
al support. On the local level, Roy
Swaringen and Clyde Auman
have been appointed as captains
for the drive and to serve on their
committee are Miss Alberta Mon
roe, W. A. Johnson, Jr., Floyd
Cole, Leslie Gordon, Paul Von-
Canon, Decatur Richardson, and
Hobson Tucker.
Benefit Dance
Mrs. W. J. Sutphin and Mrs.
Bobby VonCanon attended a tea
on Monday afternoon at the Holly
Inn in Pinehurst and heard plans
for the Hospital' Auxiliary’s bene
fit dance which will be held next
month. We will be hearing more
from Mrs. Sutphin and Mrs. Von-
canon who will represent this
community for this cause.
Quarterly Conference
The Methodist Church will have
its Quarterly Conference on Sun
day following the morning wor
ship service which will be
conducted by the Fayetteville
District Superintendent Millard
C. Dunn. Reports will be heard
from all commission chairmen and
church officers.
Fellowship Supper
The Men of the Methodist
Church had a fellowship supper
on Sunday night with Lee Sut
phin and Edgar McNair in charge
of arrangements.
New Jobs
Billy McKenzie terminated his
work as manager of the West End
branch of the Carolina Bank on
Saturday to accept a position as
a vice-president with the Citizens
Bank & Trust Co. of Southern
Pines. This community rejoices in
his well-deserved promotion, but
regrets his leaving. He has served
the community well as a banker,
and has affiliated with the Lions
Club, has spoken to Church
groups, and in fact, has entered
into the community life in such
a gracious manner that he will
be sorely missed.
This is West End’s second loss
in a short time. D. L. Ritter has
moved to Southern Pines to ac
cept the cashier’s position with
the Southern National Bank of
Lumberton. Even though he was
employed with the Carthage
Branch of the Carolina Bank, he
served in the community as presi
dent of the PTA, a member of
the Lions Club, and his children
were popular students in the
school. This is our opportunity to
say a very sincere “Thank-you”
to these two men who have made
a definite contribution to the
community life of West End.
