Allan, a former Southern Pines resident, has been promoted to vice president of the United Telephone Com pany of the West, at Scottsbluff, Neb. Mr. Allan began his telephone career in Newton, la., in 1938, transferring to Southern Pines in 1940 as district manager of the Rites Held Monday For Mrs. Luck, 72 Mrs. Annie Love Luck, 72, of Carthage, died Saturday in Moore Memorial Hospital. She is survived by four daugh ters, Mrs. Vallie Payne of Haw River, Mrs. Adrian Lipscomb of Champaign, Ill., Mrs. Edgar Sulli- vdn and Mrs. Robert Wicker of Carthage; four sons, Clyde Frye of Asheboro, Leon Luck of Rae- ford, and Charlie and Winfred Luck of High Point; one sister, Mrs. John Barber of Carthage; two brothers, George D. Love of Norfolk, Va., and W. S. Love of Port Saint Joe, Fla.; 27 grandchil- firen; and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Mon day at Center Methodist Church by the Rev. Roger Thompson and the Rev. W. S. Golden. Burial was in the church cemetery.
