Paul Hawks, re cruiter with headquarters at San ford, announces. They are: Specialist 5 Harold W. Wil liams, Route 3, Carthage, who re- enlisted for six years with as signment to US Army Europe. His last tour of duty was with the 8th US Army in Korea and he ■ ' had previously served four years in the US Navy. Jerry W. Hinesley of Carthage, who had attended Cruthage High School. He enlisted for three years in the regular Army. James Thomas Wallace of Pine- hurst, a graduate of Dillon High School, Dillon, S. C., who worked with the Carolina Hotel, Pine- hurst, before enlisting in the Army Airborne. Sergeant Hawks, who has been recruiter for this area for several years, visiting Moore County towns regularly, said this week he expects to ^ transferred to US Army Europe as a recruiting career counselor, the latter part of June. USMC Recruiter Honored; New Program. Noted ! Master Sergeant Richard M. Turner of the Fayetteville US Marine Corps recruiting station has received a plaque and certifi- -a*.T for enlisting more men in the Marine Corps than any other re cruiter in the Southeast, during the third quarter of the fiscal year 1962. He opened the office I in the Grace Pittman building on Hay St., Fayetteville, January 15 of this year and produced 166 per cent of his quota of recruits, Jan uary through March. Sergeant Turner visits Southern Pines reg ularly in his recruiting duties. He recently announced that young m-en joining the Marines may now choose the Aviation Training Program at Memphis, Tenn., where instruction in num erous aviation specialties is given.
