Mark Clark Will Address Bankers Friday The 66th annual convention of the N. C. Bankers Association be gins at the Carolina Hotel today and runs through Saturday eve ning v^ith over 1,000 bankers and guests expected. NCBA President C. M. (Neil Vanstory, Jr., of Greensboro will preside over the three-day con vention which will feature ad dresses by General Mark W. Clark, president of The Citadel, and William F. Kelly, prominent Philadelphia banking ejoecutive The convention begins Thurs day afternoon with registration and a president’s reception. The general business sessions will be held on Friday and Saturday mornings. General Clark speaks on Friday and Kelly on Saturday. Entertainment on Friday eve ning will be by Shearen Elebash of Montgomery, Ala. There will be a luncheon and bridge for the ladies—^golf, skeet and bank parties between busi ness sessions. Committees of the NCBA will make their reports, and the executive committee meetings will be held on Friday and Saturday mornings. The NCOBA organized at More- head City and chartered in 1897, for the past several years has met at Pinehurst. Jackson Springs New Minister Thomas Keman, a member of the senior class of Union Theolo gical Seminary in Richmond, has accepted the call of the Jackson Springs Presbyterian Church, and will begin his ministry in Jime. His father, the Rev. Charles W. Kernan, pastor of Mizpah Church in Richmond, is remembered in this section as having conducted revival services at Culdee. The new minister is a graduate of Davidson College. When he ar rives at the church, he will also serve as minister-Counselor at Samarcand Manor. The Presbyte rian Church has been without a pastor since last fall when the Rev. W. A. Brown accepted the call of the Bluff Church in Wade. The Rev. Lacy McDuffie has serv ed the church as minister during this interim period. Brieifs Milton McLeod is a patient at Moore Memorial Hospital. Visit ing at the McLeod home on Sun day were Miss Lois McLeod of Aberdeen, the J. T. McLeods of Greensboro, the D. H. McLeods of Pinehurst, and the K. A. Mc Leods of Candor. George Ross attended the Alumni weekend at State Col lege. Mrs. Marvin Poole is recuper ating nicely at Moore Memorial Hospital following surgery. Visit ing at the Poole home last week were Mrs. Claude Smith of Wash ington, N. C.; the Rev. and Mrs. Bud Ellington and family of Candler, and Mrs. Robert L. Vick ery of Seneca, S.
