County High School Basketball Report PILOT ADVERTISING PAYS By JOEL STUTTS Director Sports Publicity With'the high school basketball season in its third week of play, only two boys teams, Pinehurst and Aberdeen, and three girls teams—Pinehurst, West End and Carthage—remain unbeaten. This indicates a close race in the conference, as was anticipated before the season began. One of tbs top games played last Friday was the Aberdeen- Southern Pines boys’ encounter which was won by Aberdeen in an exciting contest, 55-51. Wayne Lewis led the Red Devils with 21 points while Francis Warr.sn col lected 21 also for the Blue Knights. A last-second basket by Mike Lewis enabled Robbins to edge Carthage boys by a 45-44 score in a feature game played Tuesday at Robbins.
