Pack Meeting
The December Pack Meeting
of Pack 206 was held at the Home
Demonstration dub House on
Wednesday, December 11. G'ubs
Gary Parker, Douglas McCaskill
and Robert Davis had charge of
the opening ceremony.
Bob Cat pins were presented
to Randy Brock, Johnny Sutter,
Danny Adams, Timmy Adams
and Woody Woodcock by Cub
master Hurley Short. Wolf badges
were presented to Gary Parker
and Robert Davis. Gary also re
ceived his Wolf Silver and Gold
Arrow Point.
New registration cands were
presented to all the boys and the
adult leaders for their new char
ter year which began November
1.
Assistant Cubmaster Earl Col
lins presented Round-up Badges
to Joby Adams, Danny Adams,
Bobby Collins and Robert Davis.
These badges were earned by
bringing a new boy into the Pack, cookies. For the closing, everyone

Following the night service at
Ives Memorial Baptist Church on
Sunday, Mrs. Carl Patrick enter

ance, advancement, payment of
dues. etc.
After the ceremonies, the Cubs
presented their parents with
gifts of woven baskets filled with
nuts and little trays which they
had made, then they exchanged
gifts among themselves.
As a part of their goodwill pro
ject the Cubs all brou^t food
and various other articles to be
included in the baskets for the
needy which the Fire Department
and Lions Club sponsors annual-i
ly-

Randy Brock received a prize School class at a Christmas party.
Mrs. Wesley McMurray directed
the games. Toys and food were
brought by members to be given
to needy during the holidays. The
house was decorated throughout
with Christmas Greens. Mrs. Vir
gil Carpenter poured coffee and
Mrs. John H. Carpenter poured
tea and guests helped them
selves to cake, cookies, sand
wiches, Christmas candy and
nuts. Those enjoying the party

Annual WMU Parly
Monday night, members of the
WMU of Ives Memorial Baptist
Church met at the Home Demon-
strtion Club house for their an
nual Christmas party. The
games were under the direction
of Mrs. W. K. Carpenter, Sr. Mrs.
John H. Carpenter read the
Christmas story from Luke and
the group sang carols. Gifts
were exchanged among the
members. Cake, nuts, candy and
coffee were served to the mem
bers present.
Club Meets
Thursday afternoon, the Pine-
bluff Home Demonstration Club
held its annual Christmas party
at the clubhouse with a large
attendance. After a brief busi-<
ness session, the party got under
way. In a setting of Christmas
decorations, gifts were exchanged
and sandwiches, cotokies cakie,
candy, nuts and coffee were serv
ed to a happy group.

On Friday evening, Mrs. John
Burrer invited members of the
Home Demonstration Work Shop
to a Christmas party at her home.
The beautiful Christmas decora
tions gave a glow to the living
room with the warmth of the
fireplace. Several games and bin-
go were enjoyed during the eve
ning. Those having high score re
ceived prizes. The guests were
then invited into the dining room
where a table was laden with
Christmas cakes, cookies, candy
and nuts. Mrs. Harry Charles
poured coffee.

Lt. Col. and Mrs. C. A. Nance
and sons, David and Andy, of Or
lando, Fla.; Mr. and Mrs. Thorn
ton Little and son Jeff of Newark,
Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Mark
Stancil of Crownsville, Md., were
called home Monday because of
the death of their mother, Mrs.
I. L. Meaner.
Maj. and Mrs. W. E. Amos
and daughters, Laura and Audrey,
are home after a three-year tour
of duty in Heidelberg, Germany.
They have been with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Troutman. At
present they are with Maj.
Amos’s parents in Kings Ivloun-
tain. 'They will return to
the Troutmans for the holidays.
Howard Troutman was also home
for the weekend with his parents.
He was en route from New Or
leans, La. to Norfolk, Va., where
he has been transferred.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ander
son and son David of Raleigh,
were at home for the weekend
with their parents, Mr. and Mrs.
J. Douglas David and Mr. and
Mrs. George Anderson.
Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Helms of
Sanford visited Mr. and Mrs. W.
K. Carpenter, Sr. Sunday after
noon.
Mr. and Mrs. John Iverson of
Madison, Conn., are expected to
arrive in Pinebluff this week for
a short visit with Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Davenport. The Iversons
are en route to Florida.
Mrs. Tom Brooks of Albemarle
spent Monday night with her par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Leavitt.
Miss Hadie Gray of Wilmington
spent the weekend with Mr. and
Mrs. Virgil Carpenter and Mr.
and Mrs. B. A. Woodcock.
Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Tarlton and
daughter. Miss Linda Tarlton, of
Sanford, were guests Saturday
afternoon of Mr. and Mrs. W. K.
Carpenter, Sr. and Mrs. Marga
ret W. Tarlton.

mas dinner on Sunday. Those
