EHRMAN PICKLER Egg Hunt Children of the Primary De partment of the Pinebluff Meth odist Church enjoyed an egg hunt on Saturday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Fou- shee. Mrs. Joseph W. Adams and Mrs. Charles Elder assisted Mrs. Foushee with the children. Around 20 were present for the hunt. Pinebluff H. D. Club Members of the Pinebluff Home Demonstration Club have been busy in their club activities dur ing the month of March. The Club held its monthly meeting Thursday, March 12, with Mrs. Harry Charles presiding. Mrs. Jean Hubbard, the Home Agent, gave the lesson on “Wall Fin.ishes and Color.” After the business, there was a social hour, with Mrs. Johnny Carpenter and Mrs. T. E. Baggett, hostesses, ser ving a delicious congealed salad, cake, coffee and nuts. Mrs. Charles E. Elder entertained with a game on the theme of “The Easter Parade.” There was an all day work shop in the Veteran’s Building teaching leaders from all over Moore County “How to make Draperies.” Mrs. Harry Charles and Mrs. Mary King attended. Mrs. Charles and Mrs King also attended a “Planning Day” meet ing for the Home Demonstration Clubs in the Baptist Church at Carthage Thursday the 19th. On Wednesday, March 25, Mrs. Mary King went to Carthage to train lor the April lesson on “Ccire of Canners.” There were two night work shops during the month for those working with pine needles. Personas Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Lampley and children, Janice and Glen, of Dur ham, were weekend guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Col lins, and his mother, Mrs. J. R. Lampley. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert VanBos- kerck and son Billy, went to Goldsboro for the weekend with their daughter, Mrs. Joel E. Vick ers, and Capt. Vickers. Mrs. Kenneth Combs, Jr. and daughter, Theresa, left Friday night by plane for her home in Westmont, Ill., where she is spending a week with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Christy Mc Guire. Mr. and Mrs. DeForest May and sons. Jack and Mark of Websters Crossing, N. Y., were guests last week of Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Toole. Mr. and Mrs. Jessie White and daughter of Carboro were week- enl guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey White. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Boss spent the Easter weekend with her aunt, Mrs. Mae Veazey, en route from Florida to their home in upper New York State. Misses Marilyn and Priscilla Mills of Raleigh and Melton Bridgman of Lenoir were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Mills. Mrs. Henry Connelly and chil dren, Elizabeth and Jim of New York City, Mrs. P. J. Ferree of Winston-rSalem; Mrs. Ralph Leach of Aberdeen, and Mrs. E. H. Mills and Johnny Mills were dinner guests of Mrs. M. F. But- ner Wednesday. Mrs. Connelly and Mrs. Ferree were en route to Wilmington where Mrs. Ferree’s son, Jim, was to play in the golf tournament. Mr. and Mrs,. Charles Hardy and sons, Derek and Andrew, of Fayetteville, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Foushee. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. McHam of Charlotte visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Adcox Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. William K. Car penter, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tyner, Wesley McMurray and daughters, Kathy and Debbie, and Mrs. J. D. Singletary and chil dren Janice, Mickie and Glen, at tended graduating exercises at Fruitland Bible Institute near Hendersonville Friday night. The Rev. Mr. Singletary was a mem ber of the class. This is the 18th class to graduate since the school began. All remained overnight returning home on Saturday. En route home the McMurrays stop ped over at Chimney Rock and other places of interest. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Brown and children of Hampton, Va., spent last week with her mother, Mrs. Sadie Patrick. Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Goldston and children, Lori and Forrest, of Raleigh visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Leavitt Sunday. Mrs. L. L. Foushee and grand daughter, Debbie Lunsford of Durham, were overnight guests of her mother, Mrs. J. R. Lampley and sister, Mrs. R. G. McCaskill Wednesday. Miss Carol Troutman of Pfeif fer College was at home for the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Drewry Troutman. Miss Jay Frances Fisher of Wil mington College, was at home for the Easter holidays with her mother, Mrs. Charles Horton day for overnight with their and grandparents, Mr and Mrs. W. F. Hearn. Mrs. Julia Scott and children. Melody and Warren, accompanied her mother, Mrs. M. H. Meadows and sister. Miss Edith Meadows to their home in Roanoke Rapids Saturday and spent the Easter weekend before returning home. Mr. and Mrs. Seth Sterling and children Patricia and Seth, Jr. were weekend guests of her mother, Mrs. Mittie Wallace, and brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wallace. Armed Forces Army PFC Fred F, Simpson, son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Simp son, Route 1, Cameron, participa ted in field training exercise KING NEPTUNE IV, an Allied Land Forces, Southern Europe (LANDSOUTH) exercise which ended March 1, at Vicenza, Italy. The exercise tested the capa bility of the Southern European Task Force (SETAF) to provide fire support to LANDSOUTH operations against aggressor forces. Simpson is assigned as a guard in Battery B of the 82nd Artillery in Italy. The 18-year-old soldier entered the Army in October, 1962, and completed basic training at Fort Gordon, Ga. He attended Cameron High School and was employed by Bright Brooks Lumber Co., Char lotte, before entering the Army.
