The Kernans moved Tuesday to their new charge in West Virgin ia. The organizations of the church were represented and paid tribute to their beloved pas tor and wife. Harris Blake spoke in behalf of the Men of the Church, Mrs. John C. Blue repre sented the Women of the Church; Tommy McCall, the Senior High Fellowship and Lisa, Kathy and Lori Gallimore sang a tribute in behalf of the kindergarten group. Mrs. Perry Gallimore present ed the honorees a gift in behalf of the church women and Judy Blue presented a gift from the Senior High Fellowship. Nancy Sherrill presented them with a scrap book of pictures taken at a recent party which honored the Kernans. The men sang a tribute, using a fishing theme since the Rev. Mr. Kernan enjoys that sport. Mrs. Woodard Sherrill present ed a remembrance book which included all that was done during the last few days at Jackson Springs. A highlight of the party was the ladies’ “mourning” cho rus which was on the lighter side with appropriate words written by Mrs. Elmer Blue who served as chairman for the get-together. The Junior and Senior groups closed the tributes with the song. “May the Good Lord Bless and Keep You.” The hostesses for the social hour were Mrs. Woodford Sherrill, Mrs. Marvin Poole and Mrs. Perry Gallimore.
