Stevenson and children, Dawn and Buddy, were surprised last Thursday night when several of their friends and family arrived at their new home on Carthage road with gifts and refreshments for a housewarming. After everyone had been on a grand tour of the house, Mrs. Stevenson opened the many useful and pretty gifts. Refreshments of cake and coffee were served. Wins Blanket Mrs. Lynda Kaye Griffin of Waynesville, won the electric blanket given away at Correan’s Beauty Shop Saturday afternoon. Lynda is the daughter-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Griffin. Give Blood Seventy-one persons turned out for the Bloodmobile last Tuesday at the Vass-Lakeview School. Fifty-nine of the 71 were accepted as donors. Womans' Club Meets The Womans’ Club met Friday night at the home of Mrs. W. E. Gladstone in Southern Pines. Mrs. Howard Gschwindj, president, presided. Mrs. E. L. Finch gave the devotional. Mrs. H. M. Kling- enschmidt of the Home Life De partment, was in charge of the program. Stork Shower Mrs. Jerry Hardy of Cameron was honored at a stork shower Saturday night at the home of Mrs. Lane Bullock. Everyone en joyed games and the winners re ceiving prizes were Mrs. Irene Johnson and Mrs. Burton Danly. After Mrs. Hardy opened her many gifts, refreshments of punch cup-cakes, mints and pota to chips were served to the thirteen guests present. Attend Funerals Among those attending the funeral of Mrs. Tom Blackburn at the Weatfield Baptist Church near Chesterfield, S. C. Thursday were Mrs. O. C.
