A special committee was ap pointed to investigate the books of the State treasurer. Thecom mittee will begin its work regu larly on next Monday. The Legislature adjourned this, morning after a session of 05 i days, five without pay. The Senate goes on, not as the Sen-; ate, but as a court of impeach ment, whith puts it on a footing with other courts. Over 140 bills with favorable { reports died on the calendar. J The last 48 hours of the session J were marked by much talking. The Legislature meets again April ,'lrd. It does not really ad-1 iourn now, but takes a recess. There is no telling what it will have to do then, or how long it will have to stay in session. Pity and Beauty The most beautiful thing in the world is the babv, all ? ' dimples and joy. The most pitiful thing is that same baby, thin and in pain. And the mother does not know that a little fat makes all the differ ence. Dimples and joy have gone, tnd left hollows and fear; the tat, that was comfort and color and curve-all but pity \nd love-is gone. The little one gets no fat from her food. There is some thing wrong; it is either her food ar food-mill. She has had no ;at for weeks; is living on what she had stored in that plump .ittle body of hers; and that is *one. She is starving for fat; t is death, be quick! Scott's Emulsion of Cod Liver Oil is the fat she can ake; it will save her. The genuine has this picture on it, take no other.
