The Situation Alarming?Serious Ef tect on Our Trade. Washington, July 81.?"If the debilitated condition of German' industry continues much longer it will seriously affect United States trade with the empire," says Consul Itiederich at Bremen i in a report to the state depart ment, which he deals at length with the alarminginustrial crises that now threatens Germany. The laboring men of the country, he says, barely succeed in keeping body and soul together, while the monthly reports as to the number of men idle and seeking employment arestartlin^. Then too Germany is prepairing to| harvest the poorest crop she has produced for many years. The textile, coal, chemical, cement and various other industries have been affected, more or less seriously. Much is hoped for from thecommercial treaties now under discussion. SiG EXCESS OF EXPORTS.
