in this county and this section. It is to the fanners' interest to

ness men hen' are united in their efforts to makethis a strong home
market, and they need the aid and co-operation of the farmers of
the county.

FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS:

Fikht?Last hennou, only two warehouses were in use?Manner
and Farmers. This season the large and commodious River
side Warehouse will be open and conducted by Mi-ssrs. Pay
loh A. Lahsitbk, who successfully operated the Farmers
Warehouse last season. The Manner Warehouse will be con
ducted this season by Messrs. Skinxeu & Rauhdai.k, experi
enced tobacconists; the Farmers Warehouse will be operated
by Messrs. Moyett Mhos., clever merchants of Smithfleld.
Second?The corpse of tobacco buyers will l>e very much in
creased. Mr. Oscar Gregory will represent the American To
bacco Company witli his large stunding orders. Mr. Gregory
being a salaried man. makes him a much stronger buyer than
a commissioned man.
Strong Buyers With Large orders.
Mr. W. A. Willingham of the firm of W. A. Willingham A Co. who
is the buyer for this firm, will be a strong purchaser. He has lieen
actively engaged in the tobacco business here for three years. He
has large orders and will ship direct to Liverpool and elsewhere,
aud will lie able to give the farmers the best possible prices for their
tobacco.
Mr. T. J. Gentry will be on the market again; the farmers all over
the county know Mr. Gentry.
Mr. R H. McGuire will be 011 the floor of every warehouse and
with increased orders, both domestic and foreign, will lie able to
give the tobacco growers all that the grade of their tobacco will
demand. Mr. McGuire is certainly a well known man among the
farmers of Johnston county.
Messrs. Skinner & Ragsdale have large orders for every grode of
tobacco from scrap to the finest wrappers. They will buy more
largely than ever before. With their large orders for certaingrades
of tobacco which they are bound to have, they will be in a position
to maintain high prices.

The Tobacco Board of Trade of theSmit hfield M-irkel. will endeavor
this season to make the Smlthfield Tobacco Market this season, the
supreme center, the best and most available market in this imme
diate tobacco belt. Those who have heretofore curried their to
bacco to Wilson and (loldsboro will lie induced to bring it to Smith
field this season if, good prices, fair dealing, accommodation and
general courtesy is to considered.

greet the farmers with a pleasant welcome.
Messrs. Pay lor & Lassiter, with the jovial and biir-hearted Capt.

And Messrs. Bovett Bros., the enterprising merchants and their
genial Mr. H. fl. Oute, as an autioneer, whose experience is long
sind varied, will endeavor to pay good prices for all tobacco carried
to their warehouse. ^

THE OUTLOOK
For a good tobacco season has made It imperative that another
large prise house shoulb be built. Work is going on rapidly on this
house and it will be ready in a few days. It is 40x80 feet and has
three floors. It will be occupied by SKINNER & RAGSDALE to
wtore the large quantities of the golden weed that they expect to
buy. THE SMITH FIELD MARKET WILL BE
