Smithfield is the county eeat of Johustou county and is also the principal town of thecounty. It is the principal tobacco market in this county and this section. It is to the farmers' interest to help to make this a strong home market for all produce. The busi ness men here are united in their efforts to make this a strong home market, and they need the aid and co-operation of the fanners of the county. THE SMITHFIELD TOBACCO MARKET WILL BE ABLE TO Handle at Least One-half More Tobacco This Season Than Last Season, FOB THE FOLLOWING REASONS: Fpwt? La?t season, only two warehouses were in use?Banner and Farmers. This season the large and commodious River side Warehouse will be open and conducted by Messrs. 1'iv LiOit A Lassitkk, who successfully operated the Farmers Warehouse last season. The Banner Warehouse will be con ducted this season by Messrs. Skinnek & Raospale, experi enced tobacconists; the Farmers Warehouse will be operated by Messrs. Boyktt Bitos., clever merchants of Smithfield. Second?'The corps of tobacco buyers w ill be very much in creased. Mr. Oscar Gregory will represent the American To bacco Company with his large standing orders. Mr. Gregory being a salaried man. makes him a much stronger buyer than a commissioned man. Strong Buyers With Large orders. Mr. A. 1$. Willing-ham of the firm of VV. A. Willingham A Co. who in t he buyer for this firm, will be a strong purchaser. He has been actively engaged in the tobacco business here for three years. He has large orders and will ship direct to Liverpool and elsewhere, and will be able to give t lie farmers the best possible prices for then tobacco. Mr. T. .1. Gentry will be on the market again; the farmers all over the county know Mr. Gentry. Mr. It H. McUuire will be on the floor of every warehouse and with increased orders, both domestic and foreign, will lie able to i give the tobacco growers all that the grade of their tobacco will demand. Mr. McUuire is certainly a well known mun among the farmer* of Johnston county. Mt*#*s. Skinner & Hagsdale have large ordei-s for every grade of tobacco from scrap to the finest wrappers.
