Route 2, Nov. 15.— Miss Homiselle McCorkle, of the Princeton faculty, spent the week end with Miss Rawis at Glendale. Miss Clyda Woodard, Miss Ei jfie Woodard and Gilbert Boyette, of the Princeton faculty, spent the week end at their respective honv»s in this community. Misses Maude and Mildred Boy ette, who are teaching at Corinth H older and Micro, respectively, spent the last week end with their parents in this section. OMveland Pittman and Thur man Boyette were among* a num ber of boys from A. C. College who attended the faculty plays nt Glendale last Friday night. These two young men are former students of Glendale high school and are now making good records for them selves at college. i Due to the extra large enroll ments it has become necessary to add another teacher to the Glen dale faculty and also another to the teaching force at Chapel ■school, which is one of the Glen dale-Chapcl Consolidated Schools. Miss Elizabeth MeCallum from Ro land has taken the new work at Glendale and Miss Thelma Medlin from Smithfield has gone to work at Chapel. A larg*e audience thoroughly en joyed the annual faculty entertain ment which was given in the higl school auditorium on last Frida; night. Two one-act Carolina foil plays were presented- So far as 1 is known at Glendale this was th first attempt in Johnston county te piesent any of these plays by lo cal talent and the results of thi. attempt at presenting our native drama were very gratifying. Aftei seeing these plays it seems to hi the consensus of opinion that om ichools have been making a mis take in ignoring our own folk plays in their entertainments whor they are, in many cases, so well adapted to the local needs and are so thoroughly enjoyed and appre ciated. The two plays which we:e presented were: “The Black Roos ter” and “In Dixon’s Kitchen.” Messrs. Cockrell, .Davis, Boyette and Pittman gave som| quartet selections during the intermission which were enjoyed immensely. Selma : HEI-MA, Nov. lfi.—Mrs. 0. ]J.
