The electors must be chosen within 34 days preceding the first Wednesday in December; the number of which must cor respond to the number of Sena tors and Representatives each state is entitled to. No partic ular qualifications are necessary for the office of elector, the in cumbent must not, however, at the time, hold any office of trust or proht under the government of the United States.
