were employed on the Fortifi
cations at that place,

To wit: HILLIARD, HENRY, LEW
IS, ANTHONY, KOY, ISAAC, and
FRANK. The three first-named Ne
groes were apprehended at Hicks' Ford,
tlreensville county, Va. Anthony and
Roy were at the time in company with
thoc apprehended, but effected their es
cape. Frank was left by the party some
20 or b'O miles beyond Halifax, N. C.
and Isaac some 5 or 10 miles on this side
of Halifax, both complaining of sickness
and unable to travel. Frank is a small
black fellow, and about 22 years of age
Isaac is a stout young fellow, about
21 years of age, complexion rather ycl-low-
Ray s a slender black fellow, a
bout 20 years of age and Anthony is
a stout built black fellow, about 23 years
of age no particular marks recollected.
The above Negroes were making their
way to Norfolk for the purpose of join
in inc.
A liberal REWARD will given
for the apprehension of Frank, Isaac,
Ron and Anthony, and should they he
delivered to Mr. Niblo of Petersburg,
he will pay for their apprehension and
all necessary expenses
