We under stand that at the recent meeting of the Stockholders of this Institution, it was decided that it is inexpedient to surren der the Charter it will therefore conti nue its operations. Norfolk, Jan. 1 1 . North-Carolina money is still declining. Some of our storekeepers refuse it, and others receive it, but at an advance on their prices equivalent to 25 per cent, discount on the notes. Herald. Jackson and Calhoun Ticket : in North-Carolina. Since the formation of the Administration Ticket in this State, a good deal of inquiry has been made as to what names will most probably compose the "Jackson and Cal houn Ticket' The members of the Legislature Lave evinced some anxiety on the subject, and we learn from letters and other sour ces of information, that the same anxiety prevails throughout the state. With a view of ascertain ing who are spoken of in the se veral districts, an inquiry was in stituted during the session among the Jackson members from every section of the state, and the result thereof has been obligingly laid before us. From this, we pcr- jceive,thatin nearly all of the dis tricts the public mind seems al ready to have settled down on certain gentlemen as the electoral candidates. For the convenience of our readers, we will here give the counties composing each dis trict, and state the names of the persons now considered as candi dates in their respective districts. 1st. District is composed of the counties of Burke, Buncombe, Rutherford and Haywood Col. Robt. Love. 2d. -Wilkes, IredeIl,Surry and Ashe. It is thought thai Gen. M. Stokes will be the candidate in this district. 3d. Mecklenburg, Cnbarrus & Lincoln Gen. Peter Forney. a 4th. Rowan, Davidson & Mont gomery John Giles, Esq. ' 5th. Rockingham, Stokes and Caswell General Philips. 6th. Randolph, Guilford and Chatham John 31. Morehcad, Esq. 7th. Richmond, Anson, Robe son, Moore and Cumberland Walter F. Leak; Esq. 8th. Mangum, Esq. was nominated as the electoral candidate for this district. 9th. Wake, Johnston & Wayne. At a large and respectable meet ing of the friends of General Jack son, held in this city on the 24th ultimo, Josiah Crudup, Esq. was nominated as the electoral candi date for this district. 10th. Warren, Franklin, Hali fax and Nash. We are advised that meetings of the people will beheld in all the month of Janu ary inst. for the purpose of ap pointing delegates to meet at Silas's, (Ransom's bridge) for the purpose of choosing an elector lor that district favorable to the election of Gen. Jackson. We are further advised that it is pro bable that the Hon. Judge Hall will be the person selected. 11th. Bertie, Northampton, Hertford and Martin. At an ear ly day in the session, we received letters requesting us to announce the name of Col. Win. B. Lock hart, as the electoral candidate for this district. 12th.
