Seven Negro Fellmcs,
To wit: MILLIARD, HENRY, LEW
IS, ANTHONY, ROY, ISAAC, and
FRANK. The three first-named Ne-p-oes
were apprehended at Hicks' Ford,
Greensville county, Va. Anthony and
Koy were at the time in company with
those apprehended, but effected their es
cape. Frank was left by the party some
20 or 30 miles beyond Halifax, N. C.
and Isaac some 5 or 10 miles on this side
cf Halifax, both complaining of sickness
and unable to travel. Frqnk is a small
Hack fellow, and about 22 years of 3"-e
Isaac is a stout young fellow, about
21 years of age, complexion rather ycl
hwRoy is a slender black fellow, a
h'dl 20 years of ae and Anthony is
a stout built bbek fellow, about 23 years
ofasje no particular marks rccoliestcd.
The above Negroes were making their
way to Norfolk for the purpose of join
in? me.
A liberal REWARD will be given
for the apprehension of Frank, Isaac,
Roy and Anthony, and should they be
delivered to Mr. Niblo of Petersburg,
lie will pay for their apprehension and
ill necessary expenses.

$500 Reward.
A MOST daring and diabolical at-
tempt was made on Thursday nig-ht

by the Subscriber. A pile of mixed cot
ton and cotton seed, lying close under
the roof in the upper story of his work
shop, was set on fire, but was providen
tially discovered between 11 and 12 o'
clock and extinguished. The fire must
have been placed under the cotton, as it
burnt the surface of the floor to the ex
tent of about twenty feet in circumfer
ence, and also through the floor had it
kindled into flames the whole premises
must inevitably have been conscmed, as
the top of the cotton communicated
with the roof. There can be no doubt
but that it was the work of some vile in
cendiary. The above reward will be
paid to any person, who will give such
information as will lead to a conviction
of the offender or offenders.
