Washington, N. C. Mail 8. ,s vet vc have received no ac count of the schooner iMcTntyre, of tliis port. The Mac sailed for Kcw-York in the latter part ofi February last, and on the passage experienced a violent jiale of wim!, by which much of the ship ping on the coast was injured; since that time, nothing has been ,c.ird of her, and it is more than probable that she has foundered at sea. Capt. Parker, her com mander, was much respected here, and his loss will be sincere ly lamented. We are happy, however, to state, that the owner, Mr. Wm. Tannahill, will sustain no pecuniary loss the vessel be ini insured. The schooner Sarah, Captain Whitehurst, of Portsmouth, arri ved here on the 5th instant; hav ing made a passage from the bar to Philadelphia, discharged her cargo, and returned to the bar in seven days! This is what we call going it. Times. Halifax, May G. The Supe rior Court for Northampton coun ty, was held last week, by Judge Martin. Three negro slaves were tried for murder committed at corn-shuckings, in different parts of the county. Primus was found guilty of manslaughter and sen tenced to the pillory and whip ping post. , guilty of man slaughter and was branded and whipped. Lewis, guilty of mur der and sentenced to be hung on the 21st of this month. Adv. thorc were collected upwards of 1000 Indians, generally armed. It was supposed a rescue was de signed, but an old King of a neighboring town, and Tuskina himself, are understood to have told them that thev must not put their hands on a white man. Maj. Wager was on his way to Mobile, to deliver the prisoner up to the U. States authority for the South ern District of Alabama. The Charleston Courier, recei ved since the above was written, states that Tuskina reached Mo bile on the 19th ult. and was held to bail for his appearance at the May term of the District Court on a charge of having stopped the U. S. mail in February last. He has been deprived of his rank by the upper towns, and the Little Doctor appointed in his place. Raleiiih Star. Hands off. A person was brought before our Superior Court on the last day of its session, and fined $150, for having, on the previous evening, assaulted a re spectable minister of the Gos pel. Enquirer of the 23d ult. states that the body of a man, who had been evidently mur dered, was found on the 10th ult. in Randolph county, on the Ilit chitee creek. lie was of ordina ry size, very dark hair, and had on a bluo satinett coatee. Nothing was found in his pockets, which Iiatl doubtless been robbed. A cream-colored stray horse was found in the neighborhood, sup posed to belong to the murdered man. Two Indians have been apprehended at Fort Mitchell, suspected of the crime a quanti ty of money was found in their possession, and a note of hand for 820, given by Mr. Solomon Wall to N. E. Maya. The same paper contains a let ter, dated 20th April, to the Pre sident of the United States, sign ed by eleven Chiefs and head men of the Creek nation, praying to be protected in their present situation, and objecting to emi grate beyond the Mississippi. The Mont gomery (Alabama) Gazette states that Tuskina, the Indian Chief who stopped the United States' mail a short time since, was taken at his residence on the nicrht of the 12th ult. by Major Wager and i small body of United States troops. F. came to this country when he was four years old, and has risen from a humble station to his present rank in our navy, by the regular gradation of merit." Petersburg Times. fl7"The Richmond Whig says: "An atrocious deed was commit ted about 3 o'clock last evening, in this city. A Mrs. Ilayward, in the neighbourhood of Henrico Court-house, suspecting a servant girl of about 14 years of age of theft, taxed her with it, and one word bringing on another, seized a butcher's knife, and stabbed her to the heart. The girl survived about five minutes, presenting a dreadful spectacle to the behold er. The culprit is in jail." (jyThe Rev. Sugg, one of the Justices of the county afore said, that John Dunn is justly indebted to them to the amount of seventy-four dollars eighty-three cents, and oath hav ing also been made that the said John Dunn hath removed, or is about to re move himself out of your county, or so absconds or conceals himself that the or dinary process of law cannot be served on him, or is an inhabitant of another government if the case is so, and the said Sharp & Morgan having given bond and security according to the directions of the act of General Assembly in such case made and provided We therefore command you, that you attach the es tate of the said John Dunn, if lo be found in your county, or so much there of repleviable on security as shall be of value sufficient to satisfy the said debt and costs, according to the complaint, and such estate so attached in your hands to secure, or so to provide that the same to further proceedings there upon to be hqd at the house of Col. Ben jamin Sharp, on the seventh May, 1S30, so as to compel the said John Dunn to appear and answer the above complaint of the said Sharp &. Packing Screws, Of the usual size, and larger than any now in use in the State, and no doubt superior they will be made in an en gine erected for. that purpose, which can not fail to cut the screws more accurate ly than those which are made by hand or other ordinary means the thread will be a square or v, or any other to please the purchaser. Horse Mills, ' Will be built at a short notice, on the improved perpendicular plan, or any other desired by the purchaser the per pendicular Mill may, by removing the Gin, occupy the same place and be pro pelled by the same geer. Chain Bands and Wheels, Of a superior quality, will be furnished those who desire them, which are ex tremely well calculated for the propel ling of both Gins and Mills. Stills Bepaired, . In the best manner Still Worms and Crane Necks made of a superior compo sition, that will in a great measure resist the power of oxidation, possessed by the concentrated acidous substance collected in the Necks and Worms by distillation, and thereby obviate that long prevailing difficulty of Worms and Necks soon getting out of repair another very im portant improvement will be made in the proportion of the Necks and Worms which will greatly facilitate the conden sation of the spirits, expedite their run ning, add to the quantity, and save both time and labor.
